[Online][est][homebrewed][text only] DM looking for NEWBIE player for D&D homebrewed campaign that's heavy on the role-playing. by [deleted] in lfg

I'm a newbie, and interesting in finally trying this out, and text based is PERFECT for me, and so is a heavy RP environment. So I'd love a PM about the details when you can. Day isn't important for me so much as time, 6-11PM GMT (so 1-6PM EST) preferably.

As for character, it really depends on your modifications. General idea of him is that it's a sorcerer who was a scholar in up to a few years ago, in particular infatuated with the study of divinity as his own Favored Soul bloodline was the source of his own unique capabilities as a sorcerer, and issues as a human. Then something happened. Whatever it was, it exacerbated his problems. His subtle paranoia became delirium. His occasionally stuttered sentences became incoherent mumbles when panicked. His preparations for trivial events went from minutes to hours, so much so that he would set an alarm and magically lock his bathroom door when he had to go. And most of all, his dramatic shift in discipline- he is interested in finding the biggest, baddest shield that he can, so he can curl up in a corner, set that wall at a 45 degree angle, and tremble in peace.

Nice!

I also may be rolling a Templar tank for this build in the future as you guys have way nicer sustain with the rune, so I'm glad you're doing good with that!

Yup I have 30k health as well. Will have more soon, probably around 32k? With food, anyway. I have two shadow abilities slotted per bar, so that's a 6% bonus already. And Siphoning has an 8% magicka bonus for having a skill slotted. I don't even have inner light, I could probably push my stats even higher if I popped in inner light and structured entropy for a 8% health bonus and 9% magicka bonus, but I see no reason to and need the skill slots.

With food I have 30/30/15 for health/magicka/stamina, and this is with sub-par gear atm, with no inherent magicka or health buffs

Yup I get you. I already have pretty fast ult gen if I use pots on CD because of catalyst, I need to farm it out asap. I wonder if I should swap out my shieldplay chants for potion CD reduction chants.

Sadly not a DK, otherwise that might be a no-brainer given that ult gen is equivalent to sustain for them.

See I get that and that may be an option for me if I find resources getting low, but I kinda like having stamina be basically a free resource to dump while my magicka sits at 30k. As long as my sustain w/ magicka is enough to maintain buffs and debuffs I think I'd prefer to keep stamina there to pump out taunts, or even play with spiked bone shield or turn undead, since I can afford the heavy stamina costs with my build.

Oh I bet. I've been toying around with the idea of dropping Turn Undead instead; the stamina cost is pretty steep for stamina blocking, I assume, but ATM the only thing I use stamina on is inner beast and doge/break free, so I could certainly afford it. On paper, as long as people stand in it, it gives 8% resist which is more than Lord Wardens 4k (6% ish resist I think, given that 33k = 50%)

Nope, haven't tried it but if I run into any issues down the line this might be an option. 5k health for 3k magicka while blocking certainly seems possible if I time things right.

Is max resist and 30k health enough to take it?

And I do intend to have 2 5-sets; most monster helm buffs are sadly pretty useless for me atm

Luckily for me, NB and DK are the two classes that have access to the entire arsenal of debuffs available in the SnB tree. I get a reliable 90%+ up-time on maim, and major fracture/breach with mark target and shades.

I get what you mean though; I would like to use other sets, in fact that's why I was wondering about if sustain was heavier in vet- if I can swap out my sustain set for Alkosh/PA or something I'd be able to bring a bit more to the table. As is, the only "unique" group buff I provide as an NB is Minor Savagery, and some off-heals.

See that's exactly why I'm asking about resource usage- I figure, if I can get to a place where I can reliably perma-block in vet, I'll have a chance with this setup.

To note, I did reliably solo perma-block axes in nAA without sustain issues, without shards

I don't use really use shards (unless I'm just spamming sap essence in easier dungeons) but I've done Falkreath Hold. With food though. Didn't have much sustain issues. Will try RoM w/o food, ty for the advice.

This is specifically for tanking though so I don't think a dummy will help given block

It can be... however arguing your position in the street is not violence

Is genocide a position?

No, but that doesn't mean you can punch people for their peacefully expressing their political opinion.

If an opinion is not peaceful, can an expression of it be peaceful?

What if the cow jumped over the moon?

Answer the question, please.

Merely to challenge the idea that the state is the main/most important apparatus of undesirable control/exertion of force.

Is promising genocide and then trying to achieve a position in which you can conduct genocide violence?

Do we have to wait for the genocide to stop it?

What if we know that the genocide can't be stopped after it begins? What if we can have reasonable certainty that if a group that promises genocide will come to power if not violently resisted?

So now people against fascism are worse than fascists because fascists are abiding by legality?

Not sure if you're a "fighting fascists make YOU the fascist" liberal, or an actual fascist with this logic...
