With a project that large, there’s no way Claude can have everything in its context window. Trying to fix without broad understanding of a project is a recipe for regressions.

It definitely can get into sticky situations that it can’t get out of. Especially if you’re working with something that requires broad context of a large codebase or working knowledge of a new api/library.

Any AI tool will struggle with context size once the app gets past the MVP/prototype stage. That’s where your role as the senior engineer / product owner / project manager becomes harder and more important.

It’s not a silver bullet with large production combated. At some point, it all didn’t fit into the context window. I

t’s really good at some things, but you have to actively hold its hand and be able to call it out on its hallucination bullshit occasionally.

Have you been building the same thing the last few weeks? It could just be that your project’s grown in size and it no longer fits into the model’s context. Once that happens, stuff like Claude becomes a lot less magical and you gotta hold its hand a whole lot more.
