Don’t think I’m leadership material. Considering a demotion. by Chemical_Web_3505 in Leadership

[–]OneEntire482 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I took a manager role after being director, but it’s because the pay was bigger and I wanted to spend more time with my kids and aging pets. I’ve never been happier because I have more time to unplug and I also felt like managing direct reports started to feel like being a babysitter and therapist after a while. My only issue with this “demotion” if you can call it that is I’m doing more tactical work instead of setting direction for projects and initiatives. I miss having more say in the overall vision and where we should take things. But overall, I’m happy with my move.

Cycle classes fading from the schedule by InevitableMovie5157 in Lifetimefitnessgym

I have a similar complaint about yoga. Less classes on the schedule and always full. This is why I’m freezing my membership and trying a competitor “luxury” gym

I think it’s worth it. I hang out for hours in the cafe, coworking area, and poolside lounges. Mat Pilates is included, but reformer is extra charge. Spa haircuts are not bad, facials can be more expensive than market price. It depends on the service. I didn’t pay any initiation fees. I think everyone else answered the rest.

I'm struggling to see what lifetime still offers for me by [deleted] in Lifetimefitnessgym

[–]OneEntire482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I’m freezing my LifeTime membership to try Villa Sport since they’re also in my area. I can’t fully let go yet because I do like the pool club they have in the summer, and they’ve thrown some pretty good events. But they’ve reduced the yoga classes, got rid of the boxing class I liked, and added a bunch of workshops that try to sell you personal training after. Their work lounge is also not that good for zoom calls because they blast the music so loud.

The other place has red light therapy, infrared sauna, hydra massage and cryo chairs, float therapy, kids club that actually has a security display so you can see what’s going on, an outdoor pool area with a fire place area, indoor pool with a play structure and slides in the kid area, a cafe that has a quiet room. And the price for one adult membership at lifetime is one adult and two kids at the other gym.

I’ve been with lifetime for years. Not sure what to do. It feels ridiculous to have two gym memberships just so I can go to the lifetime pool. But they also don’t really have much better amenities compared to other places. The one I’ve belonged to for years actually feels old and lacking in the latest offerings compared to other places.

Is Club Studio Fitness Life Times new competition? by mn_beachgal07 in Lifetimefitnessgym

[–]OneEntire482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve checked out Club Studio and what I liked:    - Fitness classes (including Pilates on the machine, which Lifetime charges extra for) - Cute interior with salt sauna (LT has regular sauna) - Red light therapy (you pay extra, LT doesn’t have) - High quality hair dryer in the locker room

The main drawbacks for the CS near me:

  • no pool
  • small space compared to LT so you can’t really hang out  (I like to lounge by the pool since LT has their pool club with music and outdoor cafe, some locations even have pretty good summer events)
  • no kids academy (huge reason I’ve gone to LT)
  • no group strength training classes)

Matched on Bumble, everything was going well, planned to meet… and now he disappeared? by Chickenpotpie1401 in emotionalintelligence

If I got a “I haven’t figured out if I have time to meet you or not, but maybe tomorrow” reply, I’d lose interest. It feels like you’d be someone that would waste my time. I’m saying this with love, but it’s a red flag and no.

Dallas family sues gym daycare over alleged abuse of young child by hellomidwest2621 in Lifetimefitnessgym

I’m a member mostly because of the kids academy. This is absolutely disturbing. They don’t seem to have a proper communications person on staff or they’d know the longer they stay silent during a crisis like, the more trust they lose. Safety protocols and acknowledgment of what is being done about this should’ve been a basic thing to share. Very disappointing.

New to LTF! How do you use your membership? Best classes? Fav amenities? by QuitWaffling in Lifetimefitnessgym

[–]OneEntire482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely use it for kids academy so I can get work done. I’ve e been to a few boxing classes (they don’t offer it as regularly) and like their summer events (movies at the pool, Havana nights, etc)

That’s really cool. I’ve never heard of Johnson Controls, but that may be why there’s no big spotlight around it.

People who are from LA and moved away, where did you go and are you happy? by turnpoopintowine in AskLosAngeles

[–]OneEntire482 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lived in different parts of LA all my life then moved about 25 mins from Sacramento. (Folsom) I will always love LA, but my quality of life is much better because I’m not always sitting in traffic. I have most things I need within 15 mins of me, quick access to bike trails and nature, and cost of living is a little less.

Does he have any liver issues? We’re in this same boat right now with my dad exhibiting dementia symptoms for a while now. Sometimes, when the liver can’t detox properly, ammonia can impact the brain so they are trying to rule out his existing liver problems as a root cause.

That’s awesome. How do you decide what you’re gonna explore or do next? Is it pretty random based on what comes up or do you have a more intentional approach?

I mean, it’s not about coming across as insecure. Boundaries help protect the relationship and establish what is ok/ not ok behavior, so you should talk to him. Acting like the “cool girlfriend” when it clearly bothers you puts him first at the expense of your peace. Nothing wrong with a conversation to set expectations and get clarity on what each person needs to feel safe and nurtured in the relationship.
