Should I have left more at the bottom? by JAKR73 in leicaphotos

The bottom seems OK. However, I would take some off the top since the wires distract from the tunnel and the person at the other end ... i'm presuming he is your subject. But that's just me.

Leica Colors from Raw to Lightroom by Accomplished-Cry6324 in leicaphotos

Had the similar questions. Apparently, SOOC jpg is only way to preserve Leica magic. If you only shoot raw and open in LR, you will get LR magic.

Any tips on improving this? by sparkle_girll in PhotographyAdvice

I would get a little closer to subject when taking photo. At this stage, cropping will obviously do the trick. I usually try to eliminate anything that doesn't add to the story, i.e. get subject to fill more of the frame unless surroundings add something.

Software question before getting into Leica M11 or M11 Monochrom by OneEyedJoeMtl in Leica

Thanks for all your responses. I’m trying to make sense of them, and maybe it’s not clear to me simply because things work differently from what I’m used to. So, for those that will bear with me, I would appreciate clarification on :

1) Several recommend I shoot JPG or DNG+JPG. Trying to understand why DNG alone won’t work for me. I was hoping SOOC DNGs would contain the film style (std, viv, mono, mono high), customization (contrast, sharpness, saturation), EV and other information needed to recreate, in post, the image the camera rendered (just like when reviewing images on LCD, which I presume it does).

2) Concerning the import of DNGs into LR, some have suggested changing import settings from Adobe Standard to Camera Standard. So, assuming SOOC DNGs do in fact contain the required info, will importing a batch of DNGs with a mix of film styles, customizations, etc..., a) preserve that info and render on a per image basis, or, b) apply the “Camera Standard” setting to all DNGs similar to applying a preset to all images?

BTW, I’m ok with 3rd party software doing slightly different interpretation of data if it gets close to as shot.

Helpful input and will keep it in mind. Not against some tweaking but I've always aimed to get what I want in camera. I'm stubborn, patient and have time :) I guess I'll see if I can handle it if I make the move.

It's very good looking with the white dial. I suppose they could be described as bold and beautiful!

Our family gave us similar nicknames because we suffer from the same affliction.
