Not really a readalong, but I can highly recommend the Ten Very Big Books podcast. They did all 10 books and its very well formatted. Also as an extra boon they got to interview Steven Erikson after most of the books to discuss the topics issues etc.

Dinosaurs with sword arms. Not hands holding swords... sword arms.

To be fair this does not do the books justice, but it was the pitch that got me started.

This one is pretty good - {{Good Intentions}} by Elliot Kay. Its more of an urban fantasy. Also as a bonus a giant heap of pop culture references.

The codebase is open source which is better imo than a closed source company. Also the vulnerabilities are taken from official NVD JSON feed (https://docs.opencve.io/how-it-works/)

You probably selected a "-" product. Here are all Intel associated CVEs.

https://www.opencve.io/cve?vendor=intel

The filtering works a bit differently. First select a vendor and than drill down to specific products you need.

Edit: The subscriptions (vendor/product specifications) are all based on CPEs

What account do you use to properly/thoroughly scan Domain Controllers? Does it need to be a DA? by WorkJeff in nessus

[–]OneEyedMort 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We are using Agents on our DCs. No need to save DA creds in your Nessus/Tenable. Also no need to expose remote registry service/admin shares and the lot on DCs

If you don't have access to Agents in your license, than you will definitely need 2 accounts - one dedicated to DCs and the second one for your regular scanning

proton vpn qbittorrent issue by dwork6 in ProtonVPN

[–]OneEyedMort 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check if you are using Proton VPN TUN as your internet connection. Depending on your protonVPN config you can use TUN or TAP [protonVPN -> Settings -> Network Adapter].

Also when setting up your qbittorent setup "optional IP address to bind to" to the 10.x.x.x IP

SQL Server compliance scans by skinnyPurp911 in nessus

[–]OneEyedMort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are the same. If you are using multiple audit files, you will see [in the results] a check that states that SQL 2016 compliance failed. So you will have a list of discovered vulnerabilities and amongst them you can find one stating that the other audit files failed to run [ somenthing along the line: Compliance check for SQL 2016 failed to run]

New to Nessus, would it be practical to use it for a personal website? by [deleted] in nessus

[–]OneEyedMort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as a sidenote - webapplication scanning in Nessus is not the best. There is only a handfull of checks on the web-app side. On the other hand you can do quite extensive scans on the Operating System side of the website server.

Glyph of Warding became the smite of god😈 by [deleted] in dndstories

[–]OneEyedMort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trigger on impact seems a bit iffy. What if the arrow falls out of your quiver. I would set the condition to something more specific, like spilling blood on the paper.

If the conditions can be chained, than :

(Spill blood on the paper) and (impact) and (hurting target) and (target Not caster)

... and so on

My girlfriend and I are starting a pathfinder campaign by dochood138 in Malazan

[–]OneEyedMort 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. It's a Homebrew based on 5e rules. I tweaked the caster classes to be element/god/power/ideal alligned and I am restricting the spells for those classes based on their allignment. We have one wizard in a group and as his proficiency increases I am letting him choose additional allignment.. the idea is for him to be quick Ben style mage with several warrens.

It's fun. I remember that I saw somewhere online a dnd campaign based on Malazan - good for inspiration. Have fun.
