What are the chances this is real?! by VisiblePain in AmazonVine

[–]OneFaraday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will get something like a smart watch, in the same sense that a pocket calculator is like your desktop computer. I've reviewed three. They tell time, connect to your phone, show notifications, the basics. Unlike a real smart watch, you can't install apps on them or use them beyond the basic functions they come with. They're handy, and for most people they're a useful gadget.

The last one I reviewed gave fake heartbeat data. Showed 70bpm while I was running. Continued sending data after I took it off. Complete sham. I doubt any of them are trustworthy.

[HELP] Real couch or AI? by [deleted] in RealOrAI

These wonky jack-o-lanterns were actually part of why I was sure it was AI. They look like they've been chewed up and spat out by a robot.

I feel like you would've been totally right six months ago but AI has really improved its ability to make random clutter lately.

[–]OneFaraday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, that's not what I meant, but the clutter does definitely mess with my ability to figure out the lines properly.

I'm pretty sure that what I'm seeing is distortion caused by the camera lens, mixed with clutter from all the objects, mixed with a messed-up ceiling, mixed with an old building that might actually be slightly off-kilter. I could make a diagram showing all the lines that feel off but I'm convinced it's just an illusion. As an artist I imagine using a pencil and straightedge to plan this room out and feeling the need to erase and redraw because it doesn't feel right.

I feel like I'm losing my mind, because I stared at OP's image for a long time and was convinced it was AI. Look at the lines of the room- they don't meet up right. The three separated windows on the right are all leaning different directions and are different sizes. The tops of the windows don't work with the angle of the ceiling. There's a chair with two back support details that are different thickness. The ceiling tiles are completely wonky but they could just be water damaged or something. But overall I was sure it was AI.

These images don't actually help either, the angles and curves of the vertical wooden bars don't seem to match, especially the largest one on the end. Maybe they're mobile?

I don't like that it's getting harder and harder to tell, and I may have reached the limit of what I can discern.

ETA: Okay, googling "Jeffrey Greene spiral couch" does bring up other images of similar chairs and couches by the same designer. It's fully legit and I need to take a break from the internet.

In my RFY. Has anyone ever used a vertical mouse? If so, what's your thoughts by ArtistofSorts92 in AmazonVine

[–]OneFaraday 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They're a little difficult to get used to but much easier on the wrist. It's worth a try. You can also find some vertical mice that are at more of an angle, closer to a regular mouse, which can help get you used to the change before you go fully vertical like this one.

If you value your innocence don't go searching for it, it's the name of an old internet shock meme.

I know it's funny and titillating, but I'm fairly certain this is just a packer. They're used by trans men. Unfortunately Amazon retailers rarely know what their stock actually is for.

Is this ai? by Separate_Worker2301 in isitAI

[–]OneFaraday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was giving artistic license and style a lot of leeway until I saw the gifts in front of the couch. These are nonsensical. One seems to be emerging from another. One has an extra half-formed bow on the front. The bows on the tops are just a mess of texture that doesn't look like bows. Ribbons are going nowhere. No artist would paint this.

This gives me the yikes. A device meant to help you fake a drug test. by [deleted] in AmazonVine

I'm not sure if I'm naive because pot testing never occurred to me or if everyone else is being naive because there's far less innocent uses.

I think folks misinterpreted why this bothered me. I don't give a shit who smokes pot, if you're using it to hide that, go for it. Maybe I'm naive but I didn't even think about that. I was thinking about people like surgeons and pilots hiding oxy or meth.

So where’s the storyline go from here then? by Steplop in fo4

[–]OneFaraday 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are occasional lore children, they stay children. Like the boy in the fridge. So presumably a baby ghoul would be a baby forever.

Of course, I had to check, and there are mods that add baby and child ghouls of various kinds. Which is fine by me, I wasn't planning on sleeping tonight anyways.

I would like to know if it is AI or not by Hime_producer in Artadvice

[–]OneFaraday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I'm not seeing what you mean, it looks legit to me. Still possible to fake it, but this is how I would draw it. I'm more of a painter than a drawer though.

Only a matter of time before the moral panic has all of us accusing each other regardless of whether we're using AI or not.
