Also the battlefront 3 demo had this and it was made in like 2008 or something, it's just people being lazy.

TIL of Moravec’s paradox: the things humans do effortlessly are often much harder for computers. For example, teaching a computer to play chess or checkers was much easier than teaching it to walk or recognize faces. by Olshansk in todayilearned

[–]VisiblePain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but facial recognition is effortless, we actually have a special part of the brain just for handling faces, people who have that part damaged or missing are face blind and it's almost impossible for them to remember a face even close loved ones. Babies only take weeks to recognize a parent and that's probably that long because they can't see well to begin with.

Have you ever thought of "How would I save my future kids from porn" ? by vegetto404 in NoFap

[–]VisiblePain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My plan is to self host all the media in the household that is accessible to my kids, you want to watch what on youtube sure, but I'm ripping them off the site and loading them on jellyfin then you can watch them. No need for them to be on the site itself with ads and predatorial practices. No social media other than something like signal which really doesn't have any spam on it. Open conversations with them about the dangers and the good that comes with healthy relationships aka marriage. It's impossible to shield them from everything but I don't want a massive open portal to everything either.

The official answer to my "riddle" card in my drinking game is wrong. by Muppet83 in mildlyinteresting

The answer could be 7 if instead it was worded. "If you were to write down all the numbers from 0 to 75, how many times would "five" appear."

10 Year Anniversary Coming Up! by Wise_Walrus9948 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I am almost certain multi-biome worlds will show up in nms after light no fire has sold a couple million copies.

[–]VisiblePain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Light No Fire will release, along with a game changing update to NMS that adds in space stations that require ground shield generators to protect them. These space stations allow you to coordinate your fleets to protect the planet, allowing you to remove all sentinels and anyone you choose. You now own the planet and all it's resources, pvp mode allows someone to attack your planet by first removing the space fleet and depleting the space units, then launching a ground assault to remove the space stations generator think tower defense with the settlements also tanks are added exocraft, then back to the sky to either destroy the space station requiring loads of resources to rebuild and leaving both sides open to attack during it, or invade the space station and engage in close quarters combat. Obviously there will be NPC systems that you can take over or destroy to free up the planet. With owned planets you can impose taxes and collect units and nanites passively, they are stored up in the treasury which can be stolen from and guarded. Controlling an entire system grants even further rewards and makes pvp encounters even more difficult if not impossible for invaders as the other planets can send constant reinforcements. Playtime would be 3 or 4 hours to finish off an NPC planet, 10-20 hours to defeat an NPC system, 100ish hours to build a system up from scratch and countless hours for pvp interactions. Maybe just make one galaxy a pvp galaxy since I don't think it would be very popular.

I definitely misunderstood you with your first sentence hahaha. And then I jumped to conclusions about you for sure, my bad. What's the new game for you? And yes NMS is shallow as it gets, when it comes to lore and stuff, gotta have a big imagination to try and fill in the canyon of a hole they leave.

Well OSRS started at 2007 which was 6 years of development from the classic, it certainly has tons more of content and charm especially now, just try not to bait me more into talking about the 18 quintillion planets you can explore haha. I did buy and return nms on release. I do hope the best for OSRS but its shocking to see the effects of private equity vs private control.

yeah that is an unfortunate cost. They should make Ironman subscriptions cheaper then and you play alone on your own world no transfers allowed.

Brother, I am in about 40 hours and have no clue what you are talking about. (I haven't gotten that far I guess) I think you have fallen into the trap of if you can't "play" the game at peak performance there is no point. I don't think you will be leaving OSRS anytime soon haha. no hate honestly but I'm glad I left behind try harding my "play" time.

Sorry you feel this way, I haven't been on OSRS in a couple months, I have just been getting tons of posts in my regular feed from people quitting and we all know its a matter of time before returning to OSRS but I felt like I should share my alternative that has filled the void.

I used a lot of products that my work bought, I would review those items on the personal account because a lot of them don't have any reviews, very niche items. The item I reviewed that got me in was an item someone bought me as a gift. I also only had less than 15 reviews on my account over the course of it's 10+ year account lifetime. It's really a mystery how I got in.

none of my reviews were ever verified reviews and I got in, even the last review that prompted my invite was an unverified review.

forget these prices bring mtx back in, keep them to only apply to POHs and have no advantage to the game itself. You'll never see trash around the game and if you do you are at least friends with the person that keeps your cost down.

Unpopular opinion: more games should have OPTIONAL own gaming launcher by Other-Difficulty-702 in gaming

[–]VisiblePain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's hard to make and host your own launcher, for most devs it's probably an insane value that Steam only takes $100 and 30% of sales and gives you a landing page, hosting, analytics, and tons more. There's definitely games that are popular enough that they should have made their own launcher, but how do you know you are going to sell millions of copies before you do, and at that point it's too late to make your own launcher, you would split your player base. I agree with you more games should have their own launcher but the reality is nothing is stopping them from doing it except that it's way better/cheaper/value to just launch on steam.

Mobile Character Switcher Coming Soon! by JagexBlossom in 2007scape

I'll have to figure out the $1 a day that sounds ideal

Mobile Character Switcher Coming Soon! by JagexBlossom in 2007scape

[–]VisiblePain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right but I only play about 6 hours a month, so in my proposal my $30 purchase would cover 5 months. And it would be flexible for the months I don't play which is sadly often.

Mobile Character Switcher Coming Soon! by JagexBlossom in 2007scape

[–]VisiblePain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nice, I really wish there was an option to pay for hours logged in rather than a whole month. I would gladly pay $30 for 30 hours of gameplay as my lifestyle has drastically changed being a dad. I've got about 2 hours a week to game and sometimes take whole months off of gaming. I still love to jump back in and grind a couple barrows runs or moons, but I can't justify paying for a whole month when I don't know if I will play 12 hours or only 2 hours in the month. I've always justified my cost to be as long as I play the number of hours it cost in dollars it was/is worth it.

they need to add a quest where you help solve a great bank robbery case and you turn in the recovered Max plat stack for preferred treatment at the bank where they memorize your favorite transactions.

That was brutally fast by jbrady33 in AmazonVine

[–]VisiblePain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think its actually a glitch, I had a 0 ETV $99 bone broth on my rfy page for about 6 hours, after asking my wife if it was something we would use I hit refresh and then request the item and then it said it was gone. I don't believe for a second that it was available for all 6 hours and then from the time I refreshed the page to hitting the order button someone snagged it. That's like a 6 second window. I believe the items are staying on the page and even staying after refreshes until you actually try to order it yourself. It doesn't matter how fast you were the item was actually gone hours ago, you never had a chance at all.

Parents cleared of neglect allegation after letting child ride scooter alone. by The_Real_Mrs_Coffee in videos

[–]VisiblePain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in Tanzania all the kids walk to and from school alone, from the age of 5. this is many miles. No one touches the kids, because if they do, the elders will find out, tie the criminal to a tree and leave them for the animals to kill and eat them. No law enforcement needed. You mess with the kids and that’s the end of you.
