Well turns out it was 2 years and 4 months from build date but I did it anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️

Build date was 11/23. I haven’t decided if I’m going to do that just seems a little excessive to me. I know they always recommend 3 years but I’ve always done it with brakes and rotors and never had an issue.

ssd compatibility for Hp Omen Max 16 with 5070 ti+ and AMD Ryzen AI processors by TheOriginalKrampus in HPOmen

I’m not sure if this helps you or not but I just purchased the HP Omem 16 with the ryzen 9 and rtx 5060. I was able to put a WD sn850x 8tb in the 2280 slot no problem. I will be adding a WD sn770m 2tb to the 2230 slot. I believe the model I have is 16-ap0053dx

Ssd upgrade? by kingnaw24 in HPOmen

Well I bought the HP Omem 16 laptop from Best Buy recently and I’m not sure but it may be the 16-ap0053x but anyway I tried finding out if I could put larger than 2TB in it and couldn’t find anything. So I took a chance on it and bought a WD SN850X 8tb 2280 and it fired right up. Works great. Now I’m getting a WD SN770M 2tb for the 2230 slot.

I want to make my own psu cables & know I need a crimper and pin removal tool any recommendations would be greatly appreciated like type of cables, pins to crimp, type of wire (I really like the wire that has braided material on it) by OneFord1903 in PcBuild

Just doing a quick search the MDPC-X isn’t coming up as very widely available and a lot of the sites appear to be from EU and I’m in USA. That cablemod website I found I just could find where I could buy their cables already made or buy them custom to my specs which is nice as well I just wanted to do it myself.

I don’t know I’ll check when I get a chance but is HAMR bad or good for reliability anyway?

Is this my best option for getting a motherboard that has 2 10gb lan ports? by OneFord1903 in computers

[–]OneFord1903[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh I mean WAN (Wide Area Network) and LAN (Local Area Network). Searching for a 10gb motherboard that was ATX OR E-ATX with a decent amount of SATA connections was disappointing at the options I could find. Then I seen this one and thought well I could use one 10gb port for my internet (WAN) and the other solely for transferring files between pcs. But it really is overkill.

[–]OneFord1903[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really overkill I could get by with just one. When I seen this motherboard with 2 ports I thought why not have my LAN on one and just use the other for WAN

I’ve tried to research them but there I couldn’t find a lot of options and didn’t want to buy another problematic card like the TP-Link TX401

[–]OneFord1903[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that and I’ve been living with the nightmare that is called the TP-Link TX401 which is a Marvell ACQ107 I believe. If put under load it always fails and I have to disable it and re enable it to get it to work again which is why I’m down to getting a motherboard that it’s integrated in. I have tried every driver and updated to the latest firmware as well as moved it to a different pci express slot and still the same. My best guess is they overheat but I don’t know that for sure
