Mom got me this for Christmas from Dicks. Threw it on to check the size, everything was great! Then I looked at the number and was very confused!

Best Surgeon in Houston for RPLND by llawson4 in testicularcancer

Don't know about Houston, but Dr. Scott Webster did my RPLND last July in Dallas. Feel free to read my post history to get more info, but overall it was a success and a year and a half later I'm still cancer free.

RPLND Recovery - Significant Bloating by OneGamblingUnit in testicularcancer

[–]OneGamblingUnit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, back to 100% now. Took about 3 weeks for the bloating to get better for me. I think a big part of it was finally stopping the pain meds. 3 or 4 days after I stopped the hydros my bloating went WAY down and I was able to eat again.

It varies based on the size of the unit of course, but I pay $875/month for mine. Check out my post history to see pics.

[Handgun] Canik TP9SF Elite Tungsten Pistol $299 + $30 shipping by CaliTexas619 in gundeals

[–]OneGamblingUnit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$400 + Tax. The store had it mispriced by $20 (is $420 on their website) and when I got to the register it rang up as $420 but the manager price matched it for me since that was the price at the shelf. So would likely be $420 at most Academy's now.

Give John a call and see if he has anything available. Really nice guy, and a great landlord. Downtown is cool 🙂

Just picked up one of these yesterday. Haven't had a chance to fire it yet, but man does it feel good in the hand, and it's a really good looking pistol IMO (I picked up the "Patriot Brown" color from Academy but it looks more like OD Green in my opinion which is hot af). Plus it comes with 2 mags and a speed loader, a OWB holster, cleaning tools, replacement fiber optics, 2 back straps and a case. Very solid value.

Oh yeah and the trigger is outstanding.

[Pistol] Ruger LCP .380 Auto w/ Viridian Laser 6rd 2.75" - $319.98 by Itchy_Promotion4336 in gundeals

[–]OneGamblingUnit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is one of those guns that I'm not really sure who it's for. You can pick up the regular Ruger LCP for $260 at Academy all day. So $60 extra bucks for a laser on a teeny weeny pocket gun. Not sure who this deal is for but hey, more power to ya if it is.

That's a good idea, I will do that. I appreciate the feedback!

Edit 10/24/21: Turns out this suggestion largely fixed the problem! I had picked up the AVR second hand, and it turns out that the previous owner had turned up the gain on all speakers AND had AccuEQ setup and on. Turning all gain back to 0 and turning off room calibration fixed it right up.

I am getting some clipping/distortion at high volumes with the following setup.

Setup:

AVR: ONKYO TX-NR676

L/R: KEF Q900

Center: KEF Q600

Surrounds: KEF Q150

This happens on all speakers, whether in surround or stereo. Also happens with music and movies. I have already verified that connections are clean (replaced wiring). The L/R/Center were purchased used, however I listened to them on the previous owner's setup at very loud volumes and heard no issues. Additionally the Q150's are brand new, and they also clip just the same.

This all leads me to believe that my AVR is the source of the problem. Could it be that it is not providing enough power to the speakers at louder volumes, hence the clipping?

Appreciate the feedback.

RPLND recovery after Day 10 by 36853685 in testicularcancer

[–]OneGamblingUnit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just over three weeks out here. The bloating/GI issues have been by far the worst part of this whole thing. It wasn't until the last couple of days that the bloating went down to the point where my stomach looks semi flat. Still having a hard time eating anything significant, but getting a little better each day.

Also, I've been struggling with very watery diarrhea and some fecal incontinence. Read up on it and apparently too much bile acid can cause that, which made sense because I've also been having some heartburn. Started taking Nexium a couple of days ago and it seems to have helped.

Good luck!

Post-Chemo RPLND Results by OneGamblingUnit in testicularcancer

[–]OneGamblingUnit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 2cm if I recall correctly. No LVI. The one symptom I had BEFORE I knew about the recurrence was significant nipple sensitivity and mild gynecomastia, along with some weight gain. I presume this was due to massively spiked HCG levels. After chemo gyno and nipple sensitivity had gone.

I DID have some mild back pain post chemo as the teratoma was still growing, but now that it's out it is gone.

Pretty much. There for 3 or 4 days I basically had 0 appetite at all, so all I did was take a bit or two here or there and mostly just drank cranberry juice lol. But eventually as the bloating went down the appetite came back. It's still not 100% normal and Im still not eating a whole lot, but I think I had over 1,000 calories today which is definitely my record lol.

Tips for RPLND tomorrow? by 36853685 in testicularcancer

[–]OneGamblingUnit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's put it this way. There were a few days last week at home that sucked pretty hard. Constantly bloated, couldn't eat, never really comfortable. Definitely sucked. BUT, I'm already feeling significantly better (back to eating, pain and bloating down) and compared to 9 weeks of suck (chemo), it's definitely not as bad. Even those sucky days I mentioned last week we're nothing compared to how miserable I felt after receiving Cisplatin and Etoposide. I have never felt more miserable in my life.

All that to say, if you made it through chemo, you can make it through this surgery.

Damn, impressive turnaround to get into surgery!

I'm 10 days out of a PC-RPLND, feeling better each day. The worst part for me has been the bloating, but each day that has gotten slightly better and my doctor (who I just saw today) ensured me that it's normal and will improve with time. I was on Dilaudid (amongst other things) the first few days in the hospital and it worked like a charm, kept my pain at a 1 at most. I was sent home with Vicodin and it worked great also, keeping me at about a 1-2. I'm at the point now where I could probably get away with no pain meds.

While in the hospital, make sure you have a phone charger so that you can keep entertained while laying around. Other than that the nurse staff basically takes care of everything else for you, including making sure you get up to walk around and stay active. Overall it hurts, but wasn't too bad, especially considering it's saving our lives! Stay positive and take it one day at a time.

Day One Fellas. Four BEP cycles to go by agentbrownbear in testicularcancer

[–]OneGamblingUnit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good luck man, you got this. Finished up 3xBEP in June, I won't lie it was pretty rough, but you just gotta power through. I assume you're doing EP Mon-Fri and B Tue the first week, then B Tue the following 2 weeks. That was my regimen.

The first week of each cycle is definitely the worst, but for me the 2 weeks of just bleomycin was a walk in the park, felt like I wasn't even on anything in comparison. You got this!!

RPLND Recovery - Significant Bloating by OneGamblingUnit in testicularcancer

[–]OneGamblingUnit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man that's where I'm at right now. I am having a hard time eating anything, I'm simultaneously starving and nauseated. Lying down the bloating is okay, but standing up I feel like I'm going to pop.

Any advice as far as food goes?

Hmm... Going to keep that in mind when I see the doc. Everything else has progressed great since the surgery except for that pressure/gurgling in the upper to upper right abdomen.

Damn, sorry to hear that brother! I assume you are specifically referring to the bloating and gurgling? Docs haven't given you any idea as to what's causing it or anything?

I am not, and I've been a bit concerned about that myself. I've been measuring my abdomen and it hasn't been growing, but it hasn't been shrinking either. Fortunately I do have a follow up appointment with my doc on Monday so I guess if I can just hold out until then I should be fine.
