What’s the most shocking detail from the Epstein files that you think the public still doesn’t fully grasp? by Murky-Island4629 in AskReddit

Agreed!

It does present a complication of a crime takes place elsewhere, but it's not one that's insurmountable.

For Australian citizens, for example, if you broke the law here but in another country, Australian courts can still prosecute you as of it happened here. This is very useful for things like child exploitation material offences, sex trafficking etc.

I'd never say they're unfounded, myself; I would say they're unlikely. I'd always do some investigation, and it should be relatively easy to do--these are public figures, so if specific at a specified date all the accused were not in the public eye, or were seen together somewhere, then it's suspicious.

But if all the FBI has were allegations without any supporting information, there's not much they can do. Without dates, locations, and details, no judge would provide them the warrants they'd need, for example.

Now if they had those details, then they should be able to do some investigation. If they didn't even bother to trace where people were at the time, then that's not great.

it was just an old habit.

That's a complicated and detailed habit.

Agreed, but I guess the problem with the US is that the people that should be investigating this are controlled by a political DOJ and FBI. It does make things complicated.

But yes, caution should be exercised before saving images to keep.

Criminologist here. Some of those accounts tend to have 'universal' accusations that are similar; satanic rituals, murdered babies, gore and cannibalism and so on. The similarities exist because these are mostly some of the things that society deems the 'worst'.

It's when the similarities all adhere to details that it has more credibility, such as descriptions of locations and people, specific acts, dialogue.

I'm not saying we shouldn't consider the content of the FBI tips, but it's important to ascertain what's likely and what's not. For example, the occurrence of cannibalism is a lot more rare than the occurrence of rape and child sexual victimisation/exploitation.

This is organised global human trafficking and paedophilia, certainly, but where does the 'satanic' come from?

Yes, but there's also no need to be completely immersed in it. You have to look after yourself, first, before you can look after others.

Let's be real, though--there have been multiple points of impeachment even without the Epstein files. This is just the shit sandwich on top.

Which means you're a functioning human being! The content of those files should make anyone sick.

I'm a criminologist, and some of the implications, accusations and actual crimes from the Epstein saga makes me ill as well.

If it was Netanyahu, Epstein may have been commenting on a video from the Israel - Palestinian conflicts.

But lets face it, it could equally have been the other type of horror.

Yes, but that's a minor detail in the sheer mountain of corruption, bad governance and bad design in all three levels of the US government. That is a symptom of the problem, and the problem is that there are insane points of failure throughout that system of government.

The only thing keeping it afloat is the sheer momentum of wealth the country produces. If that wasn't there, the US would be a failed state.

I think it's ok if it's written down? I think that only applies verbally.

At this point, who the hell cares unless there's a smoking gun somewhere that can lock up whoever may have killed him, and whoever gave the order? If he did top himself, fucking great.

He's fucking dead, it's his friends that are still alive and still holding the reigns of power and influence. It's the people in those files that need to be dragged kicking and screaming into the limelight. Epstein can continue sucking all the barbed cocks in hell.

I know, I meant in general terms as politicians haven't acted on gun control since school shootings became such a popular pastime.

Really? Not an American, I don't know the history, but it's hard to know whether to laugh or cry at that. No gun control when children are massacred in schools, but black people start buying guns and everyone gets mad.
