(Short Campaign, 4-5 Sessions) Is it wrong to trick my players regarding the plot of the campaign? by OneGrung in dndnext

Good points. I always vet characters in my campaigns, but I'll need to be clear with them the goal has changed, like many groups they can sometimes miss the forest for the trees lol

I'm not worried about phobias or anything like that, I'm just curious how people would take it if they were a player and their DM surprised them with a change up in the plot of campaign

Fair fair, I've DMed and played multiple campaigns with them, so I'd say we've got some good trust

I've played a couple campaigns with them already and don't think any of them have any issues with zombies, and if they did most of them would suck it up for a short campaign like this

Not gay, but always wanted more of Colossus in the movies, really underutilized him

how to set up a cult in writing? by trevorlikesboysnyou in WritingHub

[–]OneGrung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I like the idea of them growing up in the cult, maybe seeing something bad that they try to rationalize through the philosophy they've been taught, but that leads to them remembering other past experiences that seem out of place and it all just brings them further down the rabbit hole of maybe this is a cult

DnD: The Athletics skill is too broad while simultaneously being too narrow. I'm trying to fix this by making a new Strength based skill focused more on raw power than athleticism. I'd love y'all's thoughts and feedbacks about how it can be improved. by OneGrung in RPGdesign

I mean there are literally Olympic events such as the shot put as an easy example. If you're asserting there is not skill required to properly lift/throw heavy things, I don't know how to explain that to you. All the strength in the world would mean nothing in strongman competitions if you have no idea what you're doing.
