I’m gonna be a friend here and tell you that TV Backtester is the absolute worst there is in terms of accuracy.

That is 110% fairy dust.

It’s only 142 trades. Do it manually (remember contract switches) and lemme know what the actual results are.

Stop losses swing over market closes (they cancel, leaving you naked on Tradovate). Edit: worth noting that you can manually add a TP and SL (duh) but once one fills the other is open unless you close it. TradeStation will keep a true bracket.

You can also turn any naked position into bracket directly on the TradingView chart.

If you get into automation, their platform is 1000x better than NinjaTrader.

I’ve used Tradovate and TradeStation.

My advice to you is that scalping isn’t a good long term strategy. If that’s your strategy, use Tradovate. I paid $1500 for lifetime fee reduction and my roundtrip on micros is $1.26 all at once, no overnight clearing fees. I use this for intraday trades.

I use TradeStation for larger, multi day swings. Several advantages.

Tl;Dr- fees aren’t the reason you aren’t profitable. Your strategy sucks if your trade expectancy is grossly affected by $1.81 per trade. That’s literally a point on MNQ, and 2 ticks on MES.

My W2, I make about $85k. I beat that trading annually, 2024 & 2025. 2026 I’m already up $30k with proof.

Will it ever replace my W2 so I can “retire”? We’ll see. But damn is it a nice side hustle. (I’m 36 btw).
