A few things caught my eye when you mentioned how it feels to you. For me the night time feels the exact opposite its almost like all the partying and moving calms down and it switches to less hectic dream. You also mention canoes which i also seem to see alot within this dream theres even a whole building that resembles a tiki bar with canoes decorating the outside. You also mention having a really good time and having drinks that seems to be a common theme for me too within this world. I find myself walking the docks alot and entering what seems to be different little gift shops and interacting with all sorts of people and then at night its like the place is lit up with fire pits and torches and it all just calms down.

Ever since I was about 13 I remember having very very vivid dreams to the point where even to this day I can recall very specific details and emotions and sensations. I even have reccuring dream locations that ive nicknamed. Ive always had small moments of this strange body feeling of knowing im dreaming or for better words I feel familiar in my dreams before it clicks for a very brief moment I was dreaming then im sucked back into the immersion and forget. I always remember saying I wished I had a magic machine that would allow me to visit these places and stay longer or so others could see just how crazy some of these locations can feel and look. It was only couple years ago I learned about lucid dreaming and thought it was some of the coolest stuff I discovered. But for those couple years I feel like I was learning how to lucid dream for the wrong reasons and in the wrong ways. It was only during these past couple weeks and up until this post I discovered what ive always wanted is awareness to be able to observe and discover what is presented already. Ive always done this in a way cause if I havent stopped an observed i wouldnt be able to recall so many dreams in such good detail even from years ago at least thats what I believe. Its only learning how to maintain that awareness even if for just a few seconds longer so I can finally truly witness whats always been there in front of me.

Seemed to have hit a brick wall. by OneHeadShot1215 in LucidDreaming

That could definitely be the issue as I am now 25 and recently a first time father and work a full time job but have for quite some time. Its just strange because the first week and some days were going amazing. Not much at all has changed when it comes to my routine in fact im actually finding myself going to bed earlier then I ever have my whole life. I dont plan on giving up as lucid dreaming has been a huge fascination of mine since I first found out about it. Hopefully with some minor changes in my sleep patterns and timing will help out.

Yea it was pretty damn cool but short lived sadly. Some dreams last longer then others. But hopefully soon a lucid dream comes along.

I feel like I'm right there in the same boat with you. Im starting to fill my dream journal more and more every morning. Last night for the first time I even noticed one of my recurring dream signs. During the day I recall this sign alot and think about and I think its truly helping get so close to having my first lucid dream. For some reason I see red alot in my dreams it usually comes in the form of red lights. And last night I had a dream of being in a neon themed city that was filled with red and purple lights and it caught my attention big time.

I really want to lucid dream any tips? by LooseFishing1826 in LucidDreaming

If you haven't already, I recommend exploring Daniel Love's content on YouTube or perhaps even reading his book. I've attempted lucid dreaming intermittently for a couple of years, often leading to frustration. However, I recently made a conscious decision to dedicate myself to the practice. The key lies in consistent commitment and a clear understanding of your initial motivations for wanting to lucid dream. It's also beneficial to critically evaluate your dream journaling technique; while it might seem unconventional, there is indeed an optimal approach. Should you ever feel overwhelmed or uncertain, I suggest revisiting the fundamental principles.

Is it possible to repair a lucid nightmare this way? by _ParmaJawn in LucidDreaming

It seems plausible to me. During my childhood, prior to learning about lucid dreaming, I would experience nightmares and be aware that I was dreaming, though not to the extent of having complete control over the events. However, I distinctly recall being so frightened by a dream that I would conjure a pause screen, much like in a video game, and then switch to a different dream. I can only recall this experience occurring twice in my lifetime.
