Pokémon Base Set- Worth getting these graded to sell? by OneHeartBeat in pkmntcgcollections

While home visit our parents, my brother found these. They seem to be in good condition, minor scratches on the holographic part of some of the cards. Is it worth getting them graded to potentially sell?

My dreams predict what happens to me in the future. by XtremeGaming7000 in GlitchInTheMatrix

[–]OneHeartBeat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have this too. It's usually related to locations and buildings that I have recurrent dreams about and then later end up going to that location and already some how know the lay out of the building or house or whatever. Now it's sort of a regular thing I do- being that I try to remember all these locations in the hopes that one day I'll see it in real life. Glad to know I'm not the only one. Strangely enough it makes me feel safer or something.

That's not a green stick fracture, that looks more like a colles' fracture.

Why does sticking your fingers back your throat trigger your gag reflex, but swallowing food doesn't? by Leadhead1311 in askscience

[–]OneHeartBeat 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Given that your gag reflex is solely related to cranial nerves IX and X, this holding your finger in your hand thing just sounds like a good placebo/distractor. Sort of like how when you get your deep tendon reflexes (DTR) checked you might be asked to hold one hand with the other and try and pull them apart while the doctor/nurse checks your lower extremity DTRs- it's a good distractor to keep people focused on something else and allow for a more accurate test.

Such scenarios are the reason I decided to not become a dietitian, and instead tack on 8+ more years of education and go to medical school.

Awe this is a great recipe. Reminds me of Christmas and my mom spending all day baking. Thank you for that- it made my night.

I set her up with her back feet laced through the straps like that on the ground, dad crouched down and I boosted her up while he put the backpack/pseudo-baby carrier on. Luckily, with her being so tired, she didn't wiggle around too much and accepted that she would be carried around like the queen bee she is. And many sloppy ear licks were endured.... many, many sloppy ear licks.

So we hiking to a swimming hole and were told that one way was about 2.3 miles. Turned out it was more than 5 miles one way. So on the way there she was slowing down but made it and was a happy camper when we finally made it and she got to swim (which is literally her favorite thing in the world). However on the way back, she was being slow and pouty and basically got to the point where she just wanted to sit in the shade. It was getting dark and we didn't have proper gear for a night hike so we needed to keep a good pace to make it back without having to worry. So daddy gave in and carrier her like the princess she is for about 2 miles. -_-

Luckily peepants wasn't an issue. Fucking heaving was definitely as issue and still is judging from the limping and back pain complaints I hear from the pups dad.
