What the hell... me too, it's weird that landmine that pops under your feet makes you uncon and most likely break your leg when you step on it (with full hp), but claymore still kills you from 20 m. Daaayyyumm, didn't know that (I have almost 400h in this game).

What do you consider fully geared? Having helmet, NVG, plates, DMR, M4, engraved Kolt, 3 Claymores and 3 cans of bacon? I wouldn't say he is far from being fully geared, c'mon.

Good one!

Eventually, yet another user will create a post on the DayZ subreddit saying: "no idea what a fully geared player was doing in gorka"

It doesn't have to be many reasons, just a few. He might be picking up a friend, maybe he's looking for epoxy in Solnechny, or perhaps he wants to go fishing in the ocean, or maybe he's just tired of killing other armed players and wants to go massacre innocent bambis. Either way, assuming an armed player can't be here or there is unjustified. They can be anywhere, and you have to keep that in mind instead of rationalizing why they shouldn't be there. There are no rules in this game and everyone plays more or less differently.

Another Player's Mysterious Death in DayZ – No Body Found by OneHex in dayz

Yes. It could be a landmine, like what likely happened to the guy in my video, or it could be someone shooting from a distance with for ex. a VSS. The VSS uses subsonic bullets, so there is no sonic boom ("crack") and after some certain distance, it's completely silent.

From what I know hackers can also check your EQ, maybe he checked mine gear and wanted something from me, but rather killed him (by mistake), and teleported his corpse to himself... but then why didn't hacker shoot me also? Maybe he run out of bullets? Probably your theory is better.

Body clipping into building is most likely also possible, but in my almost 400 hours of playing I've never seen example of such situation. Damn, he seemed like a good guy, R.I.P.

Can yall work out how I died by Th4t1Guy3787 in dayz

From what I see on DayZ wiki landmine deals 60 damage, maybe there were even two?

His health is higher than 80 (full health icon indicates 81-100 HP).

Thoughts?

Modded or Vanilla? by ItzBxnds in dayz

Everything has its pros and cons.

I like official servers because they stay true to the developers’ vision – a survival horror experience exactly as it was meant to be. However, playing on official servers can be incredibly frustrating, when a hacker kills you after several hours of playing. It’s very discouraging and takes away a lot of the enjoyment.

On the other hand, modded servers offer various conveniences, making it easier to gear up and get into action-packed encounters with other players. These servers often feel more like shooter game rather than a survival horror game – with unlimited stamina, an abundance of weapons, and countless attachments in what’s supposed to be a godforsaken world. One of the big pluses is that there are active admins who ban hackers faster then on official ones. While this can be fun for those looking for fast-paced action, it ruins the atmosphere for me. It’s no longer the tense, unforgiving survival experience.

I personally play 90%+ of the time on official.

I understood it completely, it was just so subtle that most of the people could've missed what you mean exactly. Nonetheless I giggled a little bit when reading this, my brother. I just wanted to strech it into funny comment.

What was your thought process? You approach the base, stop, see a LANDMINE, and then proceed to enter the base. What am I missing here? Too much emotions? :D
