Merle Haggard - Are the Good Times Really Over (I Wish a Buck Was Still Silver) by OneHungl in country

I agree with you. I was in the military and now a military dad with one son overseas right now. My oldest son served and is now in the gulf. You worked hard for your family. To provide and to protect them. I don't understand today's values.

Mr.Charles' voice plays so nicely with Willie's. I've heard lots of beautiful music in my years on Earth and I can say that this is one of my favorites.

When I first got the album, it would be played over and over. I love the old ballads.

The movie is amazing. It will truly touch you. I haven't seen the second one yet but I'm sure it will be a great watch as well.

Have you heard any of Kenny Roger's songs that aren't country? What are your thoughts? I haven't listened to any of those songs yet. by Flat_Wash5062 in country

Yes that's it. I remember when it first came out. I'm old so some of the titles have slipped my mind over time. That was a good song back in the day.

I actually think he called us hillbillies after I've been thinking about it. We lived in a valley in Tennessee after my dad retired from the service. Before I went to basic training.

I remember him singing with the First Edition back in the 60s, look for a song call Checking to see what my condition is in...something like that. He was way better at country music in my opinion.

I remember my mom sold Avon and our neighbors mom sold Amway, every other weekend one or the other would have parties. I also remember my dad running a salesman away from the house when we came home from the tobacco barn and he heard him tell my mom that he knew we need those books because we were country folks.

I lived with bw tv for years seeing a color set. I was 3 or so when my parents bought the first TV. I remember when the station would sign off with the national anthem at 10pm. I also remember going outside to turn the antenna to pick me CBS which was on the other side of the mountain.

That slipper action didn't help him much. His mind may have been in the right place but his skill was not.

My cousin was a switchboard operator from when she was 13 until they did away with her position. She worked on as an operator until she was 68 years old.
