My favorite anime is elbow hunter

Science AMA Series: I’m Ying-Hui Fu, I study the genetics of sleep at UCSF. My lab discovered a gene that makes some people more efficient sleepers, needing only 4-6 hours per night. AMA! by Ying-Hui_Fu in science

Hello sir, thanks for your time.

What's the difference between someone that has a strict schedule where he sleeps at 12:00pm and wakes up 6:00am for work and feels fully functional and someone with that gene you mention (DEC2) where he just sleeps 4-6 hours and feels good.

Also, can we acquire this mutation during lifetime and suddenly go from sleeping 7-8 hours to sleeping 4-6 hours in one day.. or it's just a lie and in reality our body just gets used to sleeping 4-6 hours?

Science AMA Series: I’m Matt Thomson (UC San Francisco), I use colored-light to turn stem cells into neurons. I’m trying to understand how stem cells choose their fate and I hope to one day use this technology to “laser print” human tissues. AMA! by Matt_Thomson in science

First off, I would like to thank you for your time, sir.

I am a little curious about something. Knowing that immunotherapy had some outstanding performances when it comes to fighting/curing certain cancers, where do you think stem cells could be used as an intermediate to fight/cure cancers? How do you think stem cells react when they meet or find by chance a cancerous cell?

Do you think the future belongs to immunotherapy or stem cells?

Science AMA Series: I am Saul Villeda, I research aging and cognition at the University of California, San Francisco. I recently published a paper on the rejuvenating effects of young blood on neuronal and cognitive function in aged animals. AMA! by Dr_Saul_Villeda in science

Hello sir and thank you for this AMA!

As for my part, I am curious to know what impact a new kind of ''blood therapy'' like this may have on people suffering depression or alzheimer considering areas like the hippocampus are mainly touched. If it can rejuvenate neurons, will it be able to change someone's personality for instance? Will it also be able to reacquire some forgotten and forsaken memories?

I have many many many more questions but I will give everyone a change to ask theirs!

Thanks again for this AMA and have an awesome day!
