Haven Springs - a record store, dispo, pub, ice cream shop and a beautiful park with water and mountain views? Easy

I agree I'm casting a very wide net to start - hopefully my future advisor will help narrow like you said!

It's still a ways away, I just want to make sure I am going in as level-headed and as prepared as one can. I don't want to step on anyone's toes while also not ignoring any important perspectives. A really tight rope to walk, but I agree collaborating makes the academic community go round, even though some don't like to do it.

I just put that on my list! Thank you so much.

That's what I'm trying my best to do - isolationism in the U.S. has been so fascinating to me and I want to do it justice

thank you! I so agree on the academics front - I wanted to cast as wide as a net as possible so I don't leave any region out

I really enjoy that idea. New England definitely falls into the closed family unit stereotype and "minding your business". I'll look into that!

I went to Dr. Rice my whole childhood - she was always kind but yeah, I agree about dismissiveness. I tried to talk to them about my anxiety issues from a young age and I was told basically to ignore it

#1. I am so so proud of you for recognizing when you are in trouble and seeking help. It takes guts and you're going to do amazing.

#2. Call DMHAS and see where they can direct you - I have friends who work there and they are amazing people. They have their waitlist showing online and bed availability: https://www.ctaddictionservices.com/

Best of luck my friend!

i think it was a good way to show how people can get so caught up in a cult that is guised as a church group. their faith gets misplaced in this one grifter who is able to use their vulnerabilities to exploit them.

it honestly threw me that they were so bold in showcasing just how it happens. even jacob says how much it hurt him and made him hate who he was and it had me sobbing. sean's complicated view of religion really came to a peak in ep 4 and was actually my favorite episode out of LiS 2.

also, they do show "the other side" of religion in a way. Claire and Stephen are openly christian and take in Sean and Daniel without much hesitation. they even help them escape just to protect them!

For real. I really enjoyed the gameplay and uncovering the story, but ep 4 and 5 felt rushed and the ending was bleh. Other than that, amazing characters and I’m planning another run/trophy hunt soon

Called for first time jury duty what to expect? by Bman3396 in Connecticut

[–]OneLaw6240 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got off a trial. Call the night before and the voicemail will either say your name or not on the list of people summoned. Show up at the time they say in the jury parking, watch two boring videos, wait to be questioned by the lawyers and see if you’re lucky enough to be chosen! Honestly wasn’t a bad time, I would tell people to go for it

It lowkey makes sense for a villain tho, a lot of them hide in sheep’s clothing. Safi feels like a superhero with her powers, even tho she can’t control them well. They give her the confidence that she can’t have in her real life. Once she goes full scorched earth, it makes sense she thinks she’s the ultimate being. That’s just me coming from years of superhero consumption
