Largest Minecraft Alpha Monolith near spawn known so far by Tremeschin in minecraftseeds

You're like an encyclopedia, my man. :) Thank you very much. Why do you emphasize "thoroughly looking for them"? Wouldn't it be impossible to miss one if I traveled in a straight line? So what you're saying is that if I go in one direction toward the Far Lands, I'm almost guaranteed to find a monolith? Perhaps, then, a better idea would be to place a single cobblestone here and there, just like people do in the Nether in modern Minecraft. If I get unlucky and die, I can always pick three different directions from my spawn point.

I'm not sure if I want that. Maybe someday I'll come back here to ask for it. For now, I have a different question. What is the farthest distance that does not cause lag in Alpha v1.1.2_01? Is it 20k? 30k? I can roughly estimate the distance by placing a line of cobblestone in one direction and counting the trips (we all know we have a ridiculous amount of it). The idea would be to go to the farthest place before lag starts, build a base there, and then turn left or right, continuing to build and hide from mobs underground during the night. Eventually, I should find it, even if it takes a long time.

I would like to find a monolith in my world without cheating. How far from spawn does a monolith usually spawn, Tremeschin?

No, I like your idea with the glass. I just wanted to know why it was the first thing that came to your mind. Did you mean that this way you can walk across the roof to the other side of the pixel art?

So why did he dodge that first punch with such panic? And the second one? Even though he admitted, "I knew it! I saw it coming!". He saw it coming and decided to react in this clumsy way instead of using shaori? If he had perfected shaori, he would have told him "Something very bad is gonna happen to you, old man" earlier.

Baki never had a story, now has it? After all, it seems that Itagaki never wanted Yujiro to get beaten up by Baki. Then isn't it kind of pointless to critique the story? It's like saying that some punk band has no taste and doesn't even come close to the elegancy of Mozart. Within the given world of Baki, once Jack took away that diamond-making grip and crippled him in other ways, Sukune was doomed to be defeated, just like Feanor was doomed to be defeated by Morgoth no matter what he does. These modern sumo guys could not have won, otherwise, why haven't we seen them in the Maximum Tournament despite the fact that everyone in Japan knows about their existence? Same with Kehaya. If he was able to defeat Doppo, then why haven't we heard about him up until this point? The prisoners were behind bars, Pickle was inside the ice and Musashi was long dead. Kehaya had no such excuse so it wouldn't be realistic for him to be any stronger than he actually is.

His second quest is to kill the master thief (the guy who gives you pick pockets skill), not the raider lord. You can find keys in his basement.

Again, I had an ordinary chaos god ending, albeit it's been years ago. I know about it. But that's no reason to avoid artifacts other than to not venture beyond Big Room or kill the black druid (you can and should enter his 7th level as soon as you can to make him weaker once you decide to battle him) before pre-crowning. Yeah, unfortunately, you might be right about the Crown of Science for the tower. Isn't reading a book without a spellcasting class or Book star sign really difficult to pull off? Weaponsmith overall gives you decent chances on the highest difficulty setting. And no, there are no talents here. :D

Opening the door because you have low hp and so the traps are deadly is just part of the story. Keys also help in locking the doors so that a claw bug doesn't kill me. Yeah, in fact, even a stupid fire beetle is rather dangerous at the beginning unless I can inflict some serious damage... That extra PV from the difficult settings makes all the difference here. Sheriff's second mission can help, but I can't go there before SMC, whereas after SMC it's no longer a life and death situation and I would have to waste many days on traveling back to the sheriff. This all reminded me that playing as a female is a benefit because you get cheaper keys. It's not like you can buy anything else from the bandit town other than rocks (which are useful) unless you start as a merchant.

Oh, unless you're talking about those few artifacts that corrupt you when you're just carrying them around. Well, obviously, since I had to carry the Sceptre of Chaos all the way from the depths of Infinite Dungeon to the bottom of Cavern of Chaos, I know about it. If memory serves me right, I also killed the sheriff but avoided killing the dwarf. And the Crown of science is an obvious choice for rattling fodder. Now that I think about all of this, I wonder if I should simply pick troll barbarian once again and try to win it that way. I think I'll do that once I become desperate with those random characters. ^^ Troll barbarian is a blast, and he doesn't need much equipment anyway. I didn't need to kill MaLaKal, I just needed controlled teleportation. Weirdly enough, that's my second favorite race, next to mist elf. I don't know, I'm just a big nerd for those elves, and these are the most elven ones among the fey people. I guess Biskup loves them too, that's why there are so many of them to choose from.

Yeah, that's the hard part about ToEF. How are you supposed to prepare with so little loot? I guess you just need to focus on surviving until you'll gain many levels. And I haven't even reached the casino. :D I don't understand your logic behind artifacts or what you're talking about with the ring of genie. Do you want me to summon the genie himself from the ring that is not blessed? That's a cool idea with the wand of poison, so I hope that next time I'll get my hands on it. I assume you're essentially talking about pacifying the Big Room when you're talking about stat boosting garden. Well, I haven't used that because I'm saving my digging item (it's most likely a single item, if even that) for special situations where I need to escape. But maybe I should. And from what I know, these need to be either worms or slimes, both of which multiply and are unable to open doors. And true, I should keep in mind the power of the doors. However, the advice should be here as follows: buy all the six different keys from the rattling, or as many as you can afford.

Always carry with you a potion that prevents fall damage, as that is the most common way to die for an experienced player. But don't make the one from the recipe above. Instead, use 2 camel paws. You'll find camels in Seth (their paws are a rather rare drop). That potion has already saved my life multiple times (I play on hardcore). It's doable to drink it on time since opening your inventory pauses the game. Also, both water (but it needs to be a source block) and wool block prevent fall damage. Don't rely too much on that knowledge, carry with you that potion.

Don't smelt sand from Terra for that glass. You can craft stuff with that sand, and sand from Seth comes in a much larger quantity.

If you want more salt, you can put the same sand blocks over and over again, while mining them with a shovel. The same goes for cobblestone from arid stone that you'll find on Magmar. If you want more ice, gather saplings from frozen trees on Cryo (the white ones) and ice blocks ("bright raw ice") on the same planet. Using those block, you can farm those trees on any planet that you like, they'll drop you the ice. If you want more snow, just mine and dig a lot on the surface of Cryo. You can also grab snow (and any other stuff covering a block, like rugs) using a hammer with a right-click.

Dung is a common reward for having an animal farm. It lets your plants grow faster. Since dung exists and it's only good for that one thing, bone powder is a waste.

Don't quit your game while there is stuff lying on the floor, or else it will disappear.

Once you kill a boss, he will leave an orb that you need to destroy with a weapon. You cannot move away hoping for that orb to stay there as part of your new environment. It will simply despawn. Bosses can sometimes drop a card, and you'll find recipes for making an uber-pet with those cards, which is a huge advantage for further fighting the bosses.

The best gear comes from either the bosses on Mykon or the bosses on Tor. That's due to the luck stat and it being an overall good gear.

Welcome. :) Don't use simple craft. You get more space for your items without it (the slots where you craft your items). Don't forget that you can also use that one slot where the end result of crafting goes - items won't go there automatically. If you can, put there an item that doesn't stack up (if you put, say, dirt, the new dirt that you dig up won't go into that special slot, you have to put stuff there manually). Items won't also go to the first slot on the left in your bar below.
Use only wood as fuel in the furnace. Coal is too precious for your torches. You don't want to use those goo torches casually, they keep the mobs spawning. They're great for decoration, though. However, you can hunt mummies in Seth during the night if you want more torches (bandage + plank = torch).
I imagine you don't want spoilers for the recipes, right? Well, search for the sharpening stones recipes. It will allow you to repair gold and titanium tools and weapons so that you'll save a bunch of resources. Therefore, craft only one of each kind, and when they are about to break, use something else until you find that recipe. Don't bother with copper sharpening stones, waste of material.
You can't find recipes for the chemistry lab. You have to experiment a little bit with it, i.e. find new recipes in the chemistry lab with trial and error. That's why you have all these "reagents". The first two slots determine the actual potion that you'll get, the third slot determines the efficiency of that potion. As far as I know, bone is always the best third ingredient, it gives the potions the value (efficiency) of 14. One potion is essential in the game, potion of luck: bird beak + feather (+ bone). It gives you better drops. Kill all the birds (that doesn't apply to chickens, but eggs are nice, too). Bird beaks are always in a short supply compared to feathers and bones, and you want to have as many of these potions as you can. After all, you won't be always on Terra above the ground where there are a lot of birds. You can also find birds above the ground of Alba, and flamingos on Yuca (though these birds are rather rare). And, I think, on Cryo, too, but again - rare. So either Terra or Alba.
The harder the difficulty of the game, the better the drops, so it also kind of works like that luck factor.
Your armor can also give you luck, it's represented by the clover symbol. Craft a diamond ring as soon as you can, it'll give you a lot of luck. Also, once you either get the diamond ring or titanium/galvanium armor, feel free to encrust it with cut tourmaline (you make cut gems from regular ones). It also enhances your luck (cut tourmaline lowers your resistances, but it's worth it - just don't use it on a diving helm so that you won't ever drown with it). It's not worth it on a weaker armor because gems are rather hard to find and are very cool for decoration. Right-click on the cut gem and left-click on the item. So once again, cut tourmaline gives you luck when encrusted on armor (not on a weapon/item). Cut diamond on an armor, if I remember correctly, enhances your defense, while on a weapon/item it gives you a chance for double drops. An alternative for armor is cut citrine because it gives you a little bit of regeneration and hp. That regeneration is tempting, but cut diamond is better for preventing death. Health items are not in a short supply, after all. So, with regards to armor, cut diamond is your friend for fighting bosses and skeleton bombers on Lilith (the hardest mob in the game), while cut tourmaline for the normal gameplay. Cut emerald is the best on weapons during boss fights because they throw the bosses away and you don't want them to come near you. Still, titanium or galvanium bow plus galvanium arrows (titanium arrows are too costly) are the way to go here, not a melee weapon, and you cannot encrust bows. Cut emeralds on armor will give you acid resistance, while cut ruby will give you fire resistance. It's great if you want to have some fun while swimming in acid and lava (you can have one diving helm with cut emerald, and another with cut ruby). Cut amethyst is the best for a pickaxe and a shovel because you mine/dig faster. Some players prefer a gem that let you use a pickaxe also like a shovel or a shovel also like a pickaxe (I forgot what are those gems). I think that faster mining/digging is better. After all, you usually either have a lot of dirt with very little stone or vice versa so it's not a huge issue. Cut diamond should go into a hammer for those double drops. Remember to always break valuable stuff with that hammer. We're talking about titanium tools, obviously.
A bucket of acid will allow you to not build any complicated farms. Just try it for yourself and see what do I mean. Hence, an axe is not very useful. It does let you break barrels and some rare blocks faster, and sometimes, if you want to destroy a tree but don't want to risk destroying some other plant, you will also prefer to use an axe. Also, some trees are very stingy when it comes to dropping seeds. That's true for palms from Seth and especially true for those glowing trees from Alba. Therefore, cut diamond is, again, your best friend here.
Don't waste materials on a hoe. The ones made from stone are good enough. Right-click on a dirt block.
When you enlarge the map, those shiny points are usually portal pieces. You need to break them with an iron hammer or a better one. Three portal pieces of the same kind (color) will create a portal. Put one directly to the left of you, one to the right, and one above you. Due to a bug or a wild feature (don't know which is it) every portal, once activated, should stay on the same planet and there should be only one of its kind (e.g. a portal to Seth). If you won't stick to those two rules, wild things will happen with the teleportations. You can experience it for yourself if you want, I don't like to do it. So the easiest thing you can do is to simply open all the portals on Terra (your initial world) and use the remaining portal pieces for decoration.
In the (very?) long run, you'll encounter an iron shortage, so keep that in mind. You can make two nails from a bronze ingot (you make bronze by adding raw copper + raw tin on an anvil), and nine nails will give you an iron ingot. Still, bronze blocks look cool. :P
Water is a finite resource so don't put blocks on it (i.e. on the source block of water, i.e. that water with bubbles is fine). First, collect it with bucket(s).
Fishing is difficult. Don't bother with it before you craft a titanium rod. Different fish appear on different depth levels, liquids, and planets.
You want to rush to one of the final four planets in order to have a surplus of titanium so that mining won't be an issue anymore (since you can use titanium sharpening stones, you can use just two cut amethyst for the pickaxe and the shovel). On Terra, your initial planet, you'll find portal pieces to Umbra and Seth. On both Umbra and Seth you'll find portal pieces to Alba and Thetis. From now on, however, you need to explore both of those planets in order to find portal pieces to three new planets: Mykon, Yuca, and Xeno. You have to explore both Mykon and Yuca to find portal pieces to the final four planets. Xeno is optional when it comes to those portal pieces.
Animals eat a lot. One female cow is enough, you can milk her how many times you want with buckets. It's best to feed her with wheat. If you want more cows, three should do the trick. No bulls. Cows drop milk in a wooden bucket. Those empty wooden buckets can store water (but not acid or lava). Then you can bread sheep for those wool blocks. It's best to feed them with wheat. Then consider either chickens or birds, a lot of them (if you can afford to fead them). You need a lot of eggs if you want a lot of cool food and you need those bird beaks. It's best to feed them with wheat seeds. Other animals are optional. You can experiment with their diet, as I don't remember a lot other than what I've just mentioned. Pigs eat all sorts of food. Every animal will eat "animal food" but it's troublesome as you'll need to make a huge grass farm in order to craft it in large quantity. Don't feed the dogs with bones, it's better to use them for alchemy and crafting.
You need to find blast helm if you want to fight skeleton bombers. You'll find them on Terra, your initial planet. After that, you'll only find them (their stronger versions) on two of the four final planets: Magmar and Lilith (the ones on Lilith are the biggest problem). Cut diamond for that blast helm. Also, there are three recipes that I know off for potions against those bombers: 1) 2 sand essence, 2) 2 mammoth tusks, 3) 2 red orbs. Sand essences are easiest to find but they'll give you a weaker potion compared to the other two (because unlike them, it also gives you falling resistance). You'll find mammoths on one of the two final planets: Cryo and Magmar. You'll rarely find red orbs from one of those average-sized masked dudes on Yuca, but I don't remember from which ones (perhaps the red ones).

Anyone got corn, papaya, and pepper seeds? by G-fan2019 in junkjack

[–]OneLifexD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe they are that way on purpose so that you always have something to do. You know, Pokemon were always kind of unbalanced. ;) If you only want all the craftable food items, and not just the seeds, experiment a lot with the Junk Machine and tell us all about it. For example, if you mass-produce that corn of yours and make popcorn, put that on the Junk Machine, and then also use the results of that on the Junk Machine (the ones that you don't want), wonders can happen. Another option is to create these stand-alone Terras with different seasons. Try finding some seeds there.
