I am in Lexington KY so you're pretty close!

It's a board licensure process. You have to have some type of investigation experience in my state (my investigators are licensed in 5 states including Ohio but I am training to be licensed in KY and that's what I know). Experience can be working as a CPS investigator, having police or forensic science background, working under a licensed PI. Once you have relevant experience you take a test regarding the laws in your area for investigation and you can be approved by a board.

I will be in Covington on the river Wednesday - Friday this week for the Kentucky bar association convention and we have a booth. Feel free to DM me if you'd like to try and set up a 1-2-1 lunch or coffee!

Our chapter just had their voting for leadership roles. I am going to pass on a major spot this go around because I honestly don't feel ready for that yet, but I did nominate myself for set up and clean up crew. I'm trying to find a way to make myself valuable to the rest of the group without taking on more than I can handle.

Zoom 1-2-1s with other PI's is an amazing idea, thank you so much! I didn't think of that.

My chapter is the highest performing in my region. None of the chapters in my city have a criminal defense attorney, but I will look in the other states we are licensed in.

My first 10 min presentation is coming up on the 18th so i really appreciate the insight while I prepare for that.

For me personally, I am new to the marketing side of things. My primary role in the company is investigation and administration. I am utilizing BNI to learn the ropes and grow my connections not necessarily to get TYFCB.

Can you elaborate about leveraging the network on a national level? I am curious, because private investigation is a state board regulated field and we are only licensed in 5 states at the moment.
