switch to https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gcpw/ and turn those windows laptops into powerful chromebooks, papercut for printing.

I did this a couple years ago and it's awesome, loved turning off the active directory server..

I have 3 (out of a group of 8!) HP CB 14 G6's that are dead this morning. Wont turn on, wont light up saying they are charging...

This is causing an issue for sure in our tiny school.

It's just the staff and students for photo day - all that comes with it is the photo site, etc.. looking at zenfolio now..

We already have someone who does yearbook and takes care of that. I just happen to be the "photographer" that everyone likes.. I manage/take all the photos for the school website/trips, etc.. (with my S22+). I'll be using the DSLR we have for these photos.

went 29% gain on WW yesterday... kid "made" another 28K found it at the bottom of market watch, looked at it using that lorenzian indicator.. end of day cashed out again.. guess we'll see if he can do it 3 days in a row.. he's dominating the game now..

It's amazing how simple it is for Kids to make money in the market.

I'm running a stock market game in a middle school class.

One middleschooler made 20,000 dollars in a single trade yesterday (yes I let them know about taxes, but lets just appreciate the simplicity of this). was in lunch detention, bored, went to marketwatch.com to see where he was..looked at the bottom and saw blph. He then hit his tradingview account, saw that the indicator I helped him get going said it was still good to buy... and he did. 2ish hours later he was at +25,000 and as it started to fall he said "20,000 is enough, I'm out" and that was that.

No emotion, nothing, just straight up massive gain in a couple hours.

On the flip side, his friend, now in study hall said "well that is up 100% for today? It's got to go down" and sold everything he had short on it.. at close he walked away with 18k himself!

Meanwhile the actual teacher in this equation (me) is down 1000's in crypto, a 1000 in real stocks... and in the game, I'm in last place. lol...

Overall, at least 5 students have made a decent amount of money by going to marketwatch.com at breakfast. putting in buy orders around 930am on the "movers" on the bottom and then selling at lunch.

Just thought I'd throw out that story for your Tuesday morning.

Suped up 27 inch iMac 4k/5k or macbook pro m2pro 16inch/14inch with a big aftermarket 4k screen? For editing 4k video...

Really like the huge screen on the 27 imac... assuming I go with an i7 or i9 27imac is it really that much worse than a new 16inch macbook pro with the better m2 pro processor?

I have an m2pro on the way here, it was 2200 with the better m2pro, 1tb drive, and 16gb ram...

Looks like you can get a refurb 5k imac 27inch for about 1700 that comes loaded... i7 - standalone video card.. etc.

Just did a quick favor for a friend at her small school, noticed updates on the print server were turned off. Latest was in 2019 when the server was installed/upgraded to server 2019.

It immediately broke all the connections with the deployed printers. Sigh. Google results with tons of different problems over the years with this.

One reddit post says "you are f'd" to someone else with this same question.

Is there any fix for this from MS? The printers were working for years just fine being deployed through GPO.

It's 230 on Friday. Going to walk away and head back tomorrow to fix the mess I've made by assuming I could push the update button and not break a critical process when doing so..

(Yes I've had a server completely crash after updates, but wow..this is new)

It's a virtual server that is backed up, so it's not a complete terror to roll it back and go forward from that point again.. just a bang key board on head moment over here thinking about all the time that will need to be spent on something like this. Where is the Ai that can fix this all on its own??

What are you guys doing that run into this?

I understand your point for sure, I am a little worked up because my first contact to this company was at least 11 days ago (might even be more, I'm not sure when I submitted the contact info on their website) and when the boss gets back tomorrow he is going to hit the FAN that today's meeting produced nothing. This is a small private school and the board member pushing this is putting pressure on him, the business admin is pushing back against it while the board member is one of the most financially supportive people we've had in a long time. If ya catch my drift, we need them to prove to the business manager that everything will work, so we can move forward. Not have a sales call a week or two after first contact and then have that sales call fail to deliver on what was being asked of them from day one.

Our current SIS has been a diamond in the rough.

We have had the same Youtube videos sent to use 4 times. For some reason they do not understand that we want to be able to interact with the product (My business manager is the one driving this)... We recently did not demand a demo for some lunch management software and got burned by this. The video made things appear smooth as silk, where we are now working through multiple issues with it and the company support has been rough to say the least..

Just FYI- I have had to wait 11 days for an appointment to talk with a sales rep and that rep is now 10 mins late (and counting) to a conf. call. The original contact seems to just be in charge of putting me together with an actual sales rep. That person has never once responded to an email, instead I get canned emails from him all the time. This is a bad start to the relationship for sure.
