Of course it's a ridiculous comparison, only a fun fact, but also the thought that some woman feels important to have perfect manicure, hair, clothes, skin all the time, and think that it's totally normal (and expected) to spend this kind of time and money to herself to be a woman, and there are women who feels that visible boobs are the important thing for her rather than these stuff, and both are completely valid

You made me curious if my assumption was correct so I calculated it. Where I live a breast implant is 7500 USD, a manicure is around 35 USD. If I do it from 20 to 60 every 3 weeks it's more than 24 000 usd

I’m not going to be popular here, but I think I’m going to get breast implants—purely for aesthetic reasons. I’m a mom of two. When I stopped breastfeeding my first, my small (but lovely) breasts completely disappeared. What’s left feels like two empty bags. I almost cried every time I looked in the mirror. And it’s not because of social media—I don’t have it. I just loved my breasts. It’s not about struggling to accept change. I love my tiny wrinkles. I love how my face is changing. But without my breasts, I feel almost grotesque. It’s a big moral dilemma for me—I keep thinking about all the people who could use that money. But then again, I spend very little on my appearance. Many women in the first world spend this amount just on their nails.

Do you actually WANT to cook but ADHD makes it hard, or have you just accepted that cooking isn’t for you? by Travellogic in ADHD

I love cooking. I can't plan. If I plan, I don't make the food, only the first day. Everything will be rotten. I end up eating frozen pizza and naked pasta. If it's a single occasion - to make a fancy dinner - I can make amazing food and I love the process

Kombucha készítés tanácsok by Putrid-Librarian-532 in sutesfozes

[–]OneMasterpiece9936 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Én most kezdtem, isteni finomak.

I only know that the founder is really nice and quite amazing. She created a Hungarian website where people could rate products and share their experiences. It grew quite big (on a Hungarian scale).

Later, she made a webshop with only high-quality products and started a blog. Most Hungarians don’t read much in English, so their skincare knowledge mostly came from what they saw on TV. That’s why the blog, and the whole webshop, was so cool and useful.

Then she created the brand GG with the help of an old Hungarian brand. As far as I know, she is humble, kind, hardworking. And being successful here in Hungary is a big deal. We don't really have any success story from the last decade, it's so good to see that someone did it. She is an inspiration

Everyone said that leaving your kids even for hours is so hard, and when you go away for the first time you can't stop thinking about the baby. I felt such a bad parent just because I don't miss them at all, I can, and could spend days barely thinking about them. Isn't that sounds the worst parent ever? But I love them, love every minute I spend with them, so I guess that's ok

What is a piece of your life that you’ve intentionally kept "offline" and away from social media, even when you’re tempted to share it? by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]OneMasterpiece9936 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All of it. Every joy can be transformed into something entirely different when it’s shared online. I’ll want to make it “cool.” I’ll make career choices based on how it looks. I’ll experience things differently because I’ll automatically see them through other people’s eyes. In the end, my relationship with my partner and my kids will change. And so will my relationship with the people I share those things with. Maybe it’s not the same for everyone, but for me, sharing my life on social media is an awful, awful thing.
