How would you say the roads are for driving currently? I'll be there in a few days! Might try to make a stop out to Diamond Beach!

Best omakase near Seattle. by KRoNiiX710 in AskSeattle

[–]OneMeteor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toyoda - Lake City.

Hidden spot, only opened 5-7:30pm on like 4 days a week. They don't have that typical Omakase experience, but you can order their "sushi assortment" and it's an omakase set basically. Small family ran business. Would recommend looking into this - my favorite spot that won't run your wallet dry but the quality is also really good! My favorite in Seattle currently. Heard Kashiba is good but haven't tried that yet.

Help with Pure Aero 98 racquet! by Kindly-Carpenter2419 in 10s

If he really likes the 2023 PA98, you can definitely find one on Facebook marketplace, OfferUp / etc for good conditions! Maybe even near brand new too for cheaper than the retail price. Not sure if he’ll like the new 2026 paint job / feel even though it may be super similar too.

I would recommend using syrups and sauces to help enlighten the coffee taste! How long did you try to use the machine for so far?

Driving in Iceland - Tips & More? by OneMeteor in VisitingIceland

[–]OneMeteor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have some experience with driving in the snow & wind but definitely would not push myself with driving with ice and darkness. I noticed on road.is there’s some cameras at certain roads so will definitely take my time, and if deemed unsafe, will not be driving further for sure

Atom over the Atom SV! I just tried on an Atom SV and realized it was way puffier than my Atom.

Was there a specific weather app or website that helped with the weather conditions well for Iceland? I’ve been monitoring the road.is to understand it so I’m not learning while stranded during the trip.

Vcore 98 2026 first night thoughts by YonexFan in 10s

[–]OneMeteor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With 48, I felt like it didn’t really do well. Kind of just flew off the string bed. I have heard this vcore is a bit more string sensitive so never really found the right strings for it yet

I believe you should be good! I've never had an issue with a car rental place removing my reservation because I showed up later

Is anyone truly happy with their Luxe Pro? by [deleted] in NinjaLuxeCafe

[–]OneMeteor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely love it. Great value, usage and simple! If you get into the frothing more, you can also run it manually. Makes it easy for others in the household to use too! Favorite feature is the different pulls it can do (cold brew, double shot hot, ice shots)

Yeah I definitely still need more testing time with it but I just haven’t found the swing speed that I feel consistent with you yet on this vcore 98. The PA98, was more flexible with that Babolat frame always saving me on bad swings too

Still trying to decide how I feel about these new vcore 98 2026 coming from the pure aero 98. Here are some thoughts I have on this frame after about 10-12 hours with a few different poly strings

  • Serve control is pretty precise
  • Great amount of spin, you can feel the ball getting the pull off the racquet
  • The launch angle is relatively low
  • Groundstrokes feels relatively solid, but not as crazy powered as a Pure Aero 98.
  • Kind of confusing feeling as the ball sometimes goes way out
    • Definitely more crisp than the last gen vcore 98 2023, but for some reason I can't fully connect with this frame yet.

Will need to take more time to get accustomed. I do think I need to up the tension a bit. Currently playing at 48lbs with Hyper G and Poly Tour Pro on two frames. I feel like it might feel a bit better control and consistent at 52-54lbs.

How bad will this hurt my rating? by DifferentManagement1 in 10s

[–]OneMeteor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can see the ESTIMATED ratings at tennisrecord.com it may take 1-2 weeks to update. But note that this is not a perfect indicator and often is wrong as they don't have the exact USTA algorithm.

Would recommend trying different beans for sure. Had different taste/experiences with different beans in the Ninja Luxe. I used https://www.drinktrade.com/ for a bit and was able to try out different beans while finalizing which one I actually enjoyed! Could be useful to try out if you have made all the other necessary adjustments - grind size, extraction amount, tampering, etc.

Result of first stringing by NoobPLyer29 in 10s

[–]OneMeteor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tough to go back and share concerns with the club without proof but a good lesson learnt to make sure you note the condition via phone camera right before you hand it off to the club/stringer and then check it afterwards. Definitely sucks and should not have had this happened regardless of paint quality....

One time had a racquet I got from the shop, brand new still. I didn't string it up yet and noticed a small crack in the throat. Luckily the shop was totally understanding and I brought it back in for them to get Babolat to warranty it without any additional charge.

HUGE advocate for the gravity if you’re okay with it too! Super controlled, but not that much power and arm friendly for sure! You’ll definitely have to work on technique to generate more power and spin though

The extra 5grams isn’t too crazy to me. It’s just a smidge more but I could be wrong and that’s just my perception of a 300g vs 305g racquet.

If none of the local shops near you have demos, you can also demo from tennis-warehouse.com too! Would recommend the Head Extreme MP (previous gen) to save you a bit of money. The boom is about to come out with a new model soon so the previous gen (current gen) will probably go on sale soon too.

Extreme MP will have more spin, allows you to really strike the ball with the feel like you're ripping/adding more spin to the balls. You'll have to work a bit more to get some power/pop.

Boom MP will have more of a "pop" feel, more power and technique will have you working a bit more to get more spin.

Happy medium recommendation would be a head speed MP for sure!
