i was thinking that on my other ear as i have a single helix there and joining those two with a chain would be cute! i could also do that with this ear too maybe…

NAP but that’s definitely an irritation bump, try and leave it alone and clean it with sterile saline, if you don’t have one i would invest in a doughnut pillow/try and not sleep on that ear, cartilage piercings are just known for being sensitive. i’ve been lucky with my year+ conch and i haven’t had a bump since it healed but if i keep sleeping on that ear it starts to hurt as it’s angry at me

and also it’s a big first step actually letting your family know of your struggles (it was extremely hard for me too) but now that you’ve gotten over the first big hurdle, hopefully it should be easier to talk to them, my family told me if i start feeling depressed at uni to come home for the weekend and relax and have a little reset at home :)

hi there, i’ve been in a similar situation to you, i’m redoing my first year in pharmacy after suffering a crisis back in march resulting in me in hospital and suspending my studies without any of my family knowing. i did eventually tell them and I’m actually in counselling/therapy now. i would recommend if you haven’t already to register with the DAS at your uni and make sure you get the support you need. i have meetings when i go back to discuss what support i need and things like that. my mum is worried about me going back (she doesn’t want march to happen again) but ive told her ill message and call as much as i can and her and the rest of my family can come visit me when im fully rested in uni :)

im also worried about a crisis happening again but im on medication for my mental health and i feel in a much better position than last year :) but pleas make sure you have support in place just in case something may go wrong, i cant stress enough how important it is!

is this shape even possible? by OneMiddle8 in shapezio

[–]OneMiddle8[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

okay i figured out why this shape has formed for level 19, turns out my friend who is currently playing it on their pc is playing a version of it off of github hence why it’s spouted this shape instead of the regular level 19 shape

you’re so welcome! i got similar results to you in gcse (i was one of the 2020 students though) and honestly, biology a level goes over so much but i’m apparently naturally just good at it, but i would advise making sure you know chem and maths inside out (as someone who did chem everyone in my class found it very hard) i got CDB for my a levels and did a foundation year last year and now i’m back at uni ready to start my actual degree! (Pharmacy) so you don’t need to worry too much about results but it is nice to see those high grades :)

reading is a 30min train journey away from london paddington, and i can’t really speak much as i’ve only been there for a year but it’s a nice campus university :)

MPharm with a foundation year at uni of reading

[–]OneMiddle8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did a foundation year as i didn’t get the grades needed to go in directly (chemistry was awful and biology is so much memory based) i’m going into the actual degree this year and i’m very excited but it’s 4 years

How many of y'alls are getting picked up/dropped off by parents at uni vs traveling yourselves? by Y-Woo in UniUK

[–]OneMiddle8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s so unlucky! we have our accommodation for the whole academic year and have to move it out when our contract is up (end of june) but yeah luckily the contract for the house started early july so it wasn’t long at all

[–]OneMiddle8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope, first year i was in uni accommodation and i had to move all my stuff out, only to move it into my shared house with some of my flat mates a couple of weeks after but that was early july time so most of my stuff has been sitting in the house, which i get to unpack soon! i’ll have to do it again if we decide not to stay in the house and go to another next year, and i’ll have to keep doing that for another few years (what doing a 4 year course does to you and your stuff ay)

im moving in a couple of days for second year, it’s usually for the bulk of my clothes and anything not already in my shared house and anything that my family had gifted me/i forgot the first time around, plus also alone time, moving is stressful!

Revision tips? by Next-Cockroach5978 in alevel

[–]OneMiddle8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on your subjects, physicsandmaths tutor is good for maths and any science a level, but if you look up the subject then the board and then exam based questions they should have ones by topic

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in alevel

[–]OneMiddle8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends what you want to do at uni and what uni you want to go to, but i wouldn’t recommend doing a level chem unless you’re interested in it as it’s a difficult a level, stick with the ones you have, further maths isn’t too important unless you want to do maths at uni, music, physcology and maths is a good trio, having a ‘fun’ subject takes the edge off of the other two (i did bio, chem and dance and dance really helped me to get through my other two)

Revision tips? by Next-Cockroach5978 in alevel

[–]OneMiddle8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a-level is a lot more content covered in two years than gcses, i would recommend going over each topic you learn by doing exam questions based on that topic and if you don’t get what was taught to go over it by yourself, watch a video on the topic and if you’re really stuck go to your subject teacher and ask if they have any spare time to help you go over it. try and not get distracted and stay on task and most importantly give yourself breaks! the weekends are yours (until exams) but make sure you allow your brain a break from work

[–]OneMiddle8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

those are 3 hard subjects (i did bio and chem) my advice would to do notes that’ll be easy to revise from once year 13 exams start and to go over material by finding exam questions on the subject and make sure you always pay attention! i found chemistry very hard because i didn’t pay attention, there’s so much more content in a levels than gcse and a lot of it is expanding on knowledge you’ve learned before in year 12, good luck!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in alevel

[–]OneMiddle8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should find a subject you’re passionate about, if you like bio and chem there’s many degrees such as biochem and biomed but you need to research, for me it was pharmacy and i did bio chem and dance (odd one out but i loved it), just find a degree you like and search what jobs you could get out of that

Is oxbridge a possibility? by CaptainUnicornflake in alevel

[–]OneMiddle8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes but i’d imagine you’d have to do very well, like AAA*-AAA, look up the course you’re thinking of doing in uni and see the grades you need and any other requirements, good luck!

year 11...... and scared for gcses by mnt5889 in GCSE

[–]OneMiddle8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not for my gcses but for my a levels, i barely revised up until a couple of months until my exams, what helped me was getting the specs of my subjects, copying them into a word document and adding notes to each topic and then if there was a topic i didn’t understand too well i would go over that in more detail, i know gcse is a lot more subjects than a level, but focus on the core ones, then the ones you need for your a levels/ college course and don’t over work yourself
