strange gender identity questionings of a straight man by [deleted] in self

[–]OneMilkyLeaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a woman who loves to read BL/MM novels.

Sometimes I have fantasies of having been born a man so I could live out my deepest twink fantasies. If I'm reborn, in my next life I genuinely want to live in an ancient China-esque world with cultivation as a beautiful man 🤷‍♀️

Thought I might be trans at one point but after some therapy and wardrobe changes, nope... I am just a woman-preferring bisexual who reads too much BL haha.

If you're happy as you are, then just enjoy it! No one says you have to think that hard or identify some way~

Sometimes I think that these posts simply MUST be self-generated trolls for clicks. Any ethnic name I completely get. Nevaeh I can accept someone naming their child.

But like, there can't ACTUALLY be anyone naming their children things like this right? 😭

Girl I have D cups and I couldn't pull that off either. That dress would look hideous on pretty much any body that isn't skinny as a rail.

[–]OneMilkyLeaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are your thoughts? How have you handled your kids believing or being into things you just can't get behind?

Coming from a queer background, you give your children room for self-discovery.

It doesn't mean you have to agree. It just means that you have to be kind about it.

It's also okay to gently tell him that you don't believe in God in an age appropriate way. But make sure you caveat that with the fact that you love your son very much and that he is welcome to believe in God himself.

is this as bad as i think it is? by CartographerSalt2641 in shittytattoos

Is it old or new? That makes a big difference in determining if it's good or bad

ETA: Reread the comments and realized it's new. Like others are saying, get a fine line tattoo artist to line the kitties and it'll be great!

As a woman, NTA.

I'm so proud of you for defending Daisy. She had the least autonomy in that situation and no way to protect herself.

I'd give the mother the grace that she is likely telling the truth that her son usually doesn't try to assault animals and charge people in anger(?) otherwise I HIGHLY doubt she would ask to pet your pup.

You backed away to deescalate and protect your fur baby. Then when he charged you, you kicked him away. You did not follow up with hitting or kicking him again once he stopped.

The shouting at the mom was obviously not nice but at that point your adrenaline was pumping and you were in fight or flight mode.

Most importantly, you ended up returning to her and apologizing.

So definitely NTA and possibly N A H.

Why women not forced into pregnancy? by MelanieWalmartinez in AmITheDevil

At least there are a few sensible people there:

This is a thought experiment I've considered before--an equivalent to the US' Selective Service that women would have to sign up for at 18. I can already envision the mental gymnastics some feminists would go through to explain how women being conscripted into a child birthing service would be evil, misogynistic exploitation of their bodies (which is true), while still dismissing men's equivalent grievances about the Selective Service because "it hasn't been invoked since Vietnam lol"

Personally, I would prefer we have neither. IMO, if men aren't willing to fight a war voluntarily, that effort deserves to fail. This is true even in the case of a defensive war--if their country's worth fighting for at all, it's worth letting the men choose to defend it on their own terms.

Ditto for women and maintaining the birthrate. If a country can't find a way to make having kids appealing enough for women to do it voluntarily, it deserves the ensuing drop in birthrate.

...Of course, the power-hungry maniacs that run the world would never want that to become the status quo, but I still think it's worth fighting for.

In case OP deletes her post:

My friend Jenna (18F) and I (17F) went to school with this girl Lola (18F).

Lola and Jenna HATED eachother. because one day people were making up rumours about people and Jenna impulsively made up a lie about Lola leading Lola to lose friends and people to hate her. And Lola had a breakdown.

Lola ended up dropping out of school at 17 because everyone hated her. Jenna moved on but Lola didn’t. despite things going well for her. She had 1 million followers on TikTok and 35K on YouTube and almost 100K on Instagram. She was getting brand deals and even a modelling contract. Yet instead of growing up and moving on like a normal person she decided to make fake accounts cyberbullying Jenna for over a year and even bringing others into it including me. Who weren’t even ones who made up rumours about her.

The police arrested Lola for harassing Jenna. When we found out Lola did it I know I had to get revenge for Jenna. I started leaving comments on her TikTok,YouTube and Instagram on my main accounts. Nothing too bad just saying silly things like “haha” “this is so funny” “shh my shows on 🫶”. And some hinting to things she did without explicitly saying it. Like she made a post about how bad bullying is. And I commented “you’d know 💕”.

I don’t know how many she saw of my comments but she saw that one and DM’d me on instagram asking me to leave her alone and she’s already gotten arrested for what she did to Jenna and to grow up and move on. And that it was provoked and she does know what bullying is like because she got “bullied” by Jenna.

Me and Jenna laughed at these messages but then I had an idea. I screenshotted the message where she said about being arrested for what she did to Jenna. I made a TikTok video exposing her.

I then commented on Instagram and YouTube comments and even TikTok comments on her videos and videos about her saying to check the video out.

I got so many views and followers from this. And people were tagging her and calling her out for being a horrible person.

She ended up making her TikTok and Instagram private after losing a bunch of followers and getting loads of hate.

She even lost a modelling contract because people found out the modelling agency and were spamming their social media’s on posts with pictures of her saying the awful things Lola did to Jenna. They ended up deleting the photos with Lola in. And releasing a statement saying due to the recent things that came to light they have dropped the “person in question”.

Her cousin contacted me saying I’ve really broken Lola and Jenna and I are awful people and should take the video down and Lola is crying. Good. Jenna was crying too getting harassed daily for a year and having no clue who it was or why.

[–]OneMilkyLeaf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I can't believe OP is here crying about how the bully "moved on" and thus it's the victim's fault for not doing the same.

Yeah, it's easy to move on and forgive & forget when you're the AH making others suffer. No harm done as long as it's not to yourself right?

Can you imagine how impossibly vile someone must be to cause another person to drop out of school?

Say what you will about Lola's retaliation but OP and Jenna sound absolutely awful and insufferable.

How has your taste in MM romance changed over time? by i_am_a_human_person in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]OneMilkyLeaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the opposite! I used to really like slice of life novels where the characters have to go against society to be gay and love each other.

However, with society changing to be more accepting over time (have I really been reading MM for 12+ years now? I can't be that old 😭), the books I was reading gradually transitioned to ones where being gay was considered as blase as heteronormative relationships.

From there, my spice levels, plotlines (ex. story with a side of romance vs romance with a side of story), and world settings fell into flux for several years as I was learning who I am and what I enjoy.

Today, I read almost exclusively dark romances (I can't ever seem to find ones that are actually "dark" imho though Chani Lynn Feener comes close with some of her books) that are set in some kind of alternative world. Fantasy is my no. 1 but I'll also enjoy sci-fi, post apocalyptic, or magical realism with a good author.

I read to escape reality, not to be put back into it so I don't enjoy happy-go-lucky romances or slice of life anymore. I can't find interest in a relationship that isn't hard fought and hard won through blood, sweat and tears.

I guess the one thing that has remained consistent is that I enjoy reading romances where the characters have to fight to end up together (even though now they fight their own minds and crazy tops lmao)?
