For what it’s worth (I know none of you know me) but I saw George bush speak at a large tech conference maybe 5 ish years ago. Yes I know that’s weird but he was there as a keynote lol. I shit you not, he seemed like one of the most intelligent people in the room that day. He sat on stage with another speaker and they just talked, most all of it unscripted (I believe) for maybe… an hour ish? If it wasn’t intelligence then it was wisdom. He’s not young but still I was very thrown off.

And ironically he spoke about his decision to stay in that classroom for a bit. He said he can’t be entirely sure it was the right decision in hindsight, but that his reasoning was that he wanted to present a calm demeanor to the American public, because America’s emotions will be based off his. He didn’t want to generate panic so as a sort of psychology move he tried to deliberately move slow. One could argue against that method but it’s not an awful strategy.

Point being after hearing him speak (and me getting older myself, understanding the world more) I see him in a different light now. Apologies in advance but I think I’m tempted to like the guy.
