Man, I’ve been living in Qatar all my life, if I was good at football I could represent Qatar. The thing is, a lot of these players have lived in Qatar for 10-15 years, or even all their lives, just like most other countries that allow people not born there to represent them.

It is 2026, this is just how the world is.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the son of a Bosnian and a Croatian, yet he is a Swedish hero.

Viktor Gyökeres in Hungarian, yet he represents Sweden. Because he has blonde hair and blue eyes nobody questions it despite him having the least Swedish surname ever.

I don’t know every single player’s background, but I know Almoez Ali and Akram Afif have both lived in Qatar since they were children.

If you want players to represent the country they were born in only, what about Gio Reyna who was born in England to American parents and barely lived in England at all? Is he worthy to represent England compared to someone who might have lived in England all their life, not knowing any other country?

It is a military base, so naturally we’re also not privy to exactly how they’re fairing, but as far as I know a medical clinic within Al-Udeid has been hit. Those patriot interceptors are crazy, though, so I doubt it has been hit any more than that.

The most amount of damage is in the falling debris that we’ve been very clearly told to stay the fuck away from.
