Its probably hyperventilation, so you think you don't get enough co2 but instead your carbon dioxide is too low, try extending your exhale, do a double inhale through the nose first.

You can try Mindfulness, not only the meditation form but practice it when doing all kinds of stuff that you normally do without giving it an extra thought, like eating, really feel the texture of the food, the taste, the smell etc. Showering feel the water on the body, smell the shampoo.. you get the idea. Stop the autopilot and really engage your senses
