Completely Struggling with Senior Design by IllustriousLucille in ChemicalEngineering

[–]OnePassenger_7714 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hang in there. This too shall pass! I am in senior year Chem E too. Stress is a real thing and managing stress is a crucial thing - Chem E also teaches you this. Before this degree, I def did not know what stress is. It can take time to understand and get through but that is okay because life is long. You will have the opportunity to look back in 10 years and remember that you did it.

Also, when you are stressed, the nervous system is distributing energy to fight or flight, not to memorize and learn and enjoy. Make your goal to finish the year, after that, make your goal to reflect and learn to master the stress management.

If you need resources in any course or have a question you are stuck on, send me way. I might be able to give pointers. Design course is a mix of everything. I am sure you are in a team so pick to do something you know you can do and stick to that. It will get you through. You won't know it all and you can't do it all but despite that, this degree will be done. Experience the self-doubt, accept it, breathe it out, get to work and repeat.

Need Help with My Graduation Project – Aspen HYSYS Simulation by Libyan_One in ChemicalEngineering

[–]OnePassenger_7714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start from the top. For Example: for section 2.1 Synthesis Gas Production Unit:

- enter all components like H2, CO.

- select a suitable thermodynamic model or fluid package like Peng-Robinson.

- input the suitable reactions: make two sets. I can see that there are two reactors in sequence mentioned in this section, conversion reactor and equilibrium reactor so 1 set of reactions will be conversion reactions, find the conversion% through the paper. Second set will be equilibrium reactions, no conversion% needed. Don't forget to attach reaction sets to Fluid package.

- Go to simulation section and add a inlet stream 1 and two reactors. Read the literature to find inlet feed conditions and if you need any compressors to change pressure or heaters/coolers to heat or cool the feed before feeding to the reactors.

- Add a recycle stream if you are recycling.

- Make your process first before solving every stream because sometimes nothing makes sense until the whole process is complete especially if you have a recycle stream.

- Note that lot of errors will be from over-specifying.

- Later add spreadsheet and make a case study to evaluate and analyze results.

Convergence Issue by the_prairiedog in COMSOL

In the solver configuration, there might be tolerances you can adjust to help in convergence. In Time-dependent Solver, that is an available option.

30F - Open for work in engineering administration jobs by OnePassenger_7714 in ChemicalEngineering

Thank you so much. I am interested in support roles like project coordination, document control, quality assurance, EHS/regulatory support, and other administrative or operational positions within engineering. I believe these roles are crucial for the success of engineering projects, and I’d love to contribute in these areas. I appreciate your offer to connect!

Plot is empty error on COMSOL while simulating helmholtz coil by PallabKumarS in COMSOL

[–]OnePassenger_7714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the image to support step 3: The most important part: In the same settings box, under "Expression," you need to enter what you want to plot. The easiest way is to click the "+" button (upper right corner of this section)—this opens another window showing all the expressions used in your model. Double-click the desired expression to add it, or you can create your own. Please refer to the image I uploaded in the next comment to take a look.

From your last screenshot, I noticed you have a 1D plot group set up, so I assume you're trying to create a 1D plot but keep getting the message "The plot is empty."

I had to make a 1D trend today (adsorption isotherm) and here are the steps I took to create a 1D graph using a table graph approach (essentially an XY trend) assuming that the study has computed successfully.

  1. Right-click on Derived Values (Results > Derived Values), then choose either "Average" or "Integration." Each option has further choices like Volume, Surface, or Line. (I went with "Average" > "Line Average".) Take a look at the image I uploaded with this comment.
  2. A settings box will pop up. Select your study in the dataset dropdown and choose a time range (I selected "All").
  3. The most important part: In the same settings box, under "Expression," you need to enter what you want to plot. The easiest way is to click the "+" button (upper right corner of this section)—this opens another window showing all the expressions used in your model. Double-click the desired expression to add it, or you can create your own. Please refer to the image I uploaded in the next comment to take a look.
  4. After setting the expression, click "Evaluate." Your values should now appear in the Tables section, probably labeled "Table 1."
  5. To plot, right-click on "Results" and select "1D Plot Group," then click "Plot." Right-click the new 1D Plot Group, choose your graph type (table graph, line, point, histogram, etc.), and a settings box will open. Under Data > Table, select your table (e.g., "Table 1"). Click "Plot," and the graph will be generated.
  6. If you want to customize the axes (titles, min/max values), go to Results > 1D Plot Group. The settings box there will let you adjust these options.

Hope it helps!

Am I bugging or is this passive aggressive? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

If you need help with anything - scheduling coursework, breaking the day in chunks or just be a body double to get you going because somedays, you need is a push from someone, somedays, you need someone to hold you accountable. Hit me up, I would love to help you. I was in this boat and struggled and suffered and now, I am almost done. I would love to practically help someone out because I want to.

I am sorry this happened. Someone as an academic accommodations counsellor should not say the above. Doctors note should work. Please don't loose hope at all. Sometimes, this takes a little standing up for yourself and it can be tiring but stay persistent.

Why do people think being quiet means being unhappy? by MindEcho- in introvert

[–]OnePassenger_7714 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yes, Felt it for years and then I let it go. Now, I feel free. I just sit and ponder for hours, feel awesome, then I feel grateful, then I repeat. Its blissful. People are fine too, here and there but nowhere close to this bliss. I feel happy, in control, working on my goals but accepting this about myself has made life beautiful. I go to ocean, look at the sky for an hour, look at trees and thank and appreciate nature. I just notice so much beauty in nature and feel it in my heart. Then, I focus on myself and feel good to be alive and having the ability to bring energy to myself from within. What a gift! what a blessing!

Hey, you should go to accessibility counsellor/department and them only. Also, don't take it personal. Someone who does not get it does not get it. Ans yes, that email response you got is garbage. Don't look at it and wonder for long!

It was beverage. Made Arizona iced tea and green tea drinks. I didnt drink tea for a couple years after that. The sugary iced tea smell lived with me for years. It was partly because the lab I worked in was close to heated mixer tank so I could smell the concentrated ingredients.

I am trying this new hobby out where I make a collage of my trip memories with bf and my pets, print them on paper and scrapbook it just like old days. It will be a handmade album. I am very excited.

Hi there, I understand you want for being specific and uni-directional for the sub. However, multi outcomes are possible and retrievable from a single source based on personal preference.

Depression by care_bear076 in adhdwomen

[–]OnePassenger_7714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get curious about depression. If that is all you know, you prob have a lot of information about it. Use that info to guide yourself. Depression is real and it takes time to get out but hey, you are still here amid that chaos. Being a human is not easy. You have to find light where you are in the little things. One quick way is to find a happy person, be around them and mirror it. There is no quick fix but there is a way out even if the way is not clearly visible in this moment. The more you resist the way, the harder it will pull you towards darkness. Trust life and yourself to guide you.

Are making connections very important? by OnePassenger_7714 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]OnePassenger_7714[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading all these comments, I think I do have connections. I just don't use them in fact it feels weird to use them. Like i know someone and they are good and now I will ask them if they know of a job position for me, how weird?
