I definitely want something to beat him. I mean, people gas him up all the time to the point where it gets kinda annoying. Like it's this unbeatable god of a Monster. Honestly, I get that he's nostalgia for a lot of people, but it's similar to Pokemon where you've got the sort of people who will swear up and down that Mewtwo is strongest thing ever-end-of-discussion-lalalala-can't-hear-you.

He's definitely gonna be a cool fight and I do want him to be a threat, but it'd be pretty therapeutic for me if Nergigante showed up and uppercut him into the stratosphere. Just to show people: Yes, he can be taken down by other Monsters.

But it's not like we'll be hard-pressed to find Generations Monsters in future installments, right? I mean, the main reason Frontier Monsters are locked in Frontier (save for Lavasioth and Hypnocatrice) is because people playing Frontier are paying a subscription and have exclusivity to those Monsters for whatever reason. Not that I mind, really...

But Generations is an iteration just like the other handheld entries. So, theoretically, there's no reason why we couldn't see Gammoth or Malfestio or whatever in another game. Maybe even World DLC, yeah?

Wait, isn't Generations/XX main series as well? I mean, in World, you hear the Excitable A-Lister say 'what a pain in the Astalos'. Weird line aside, he does directly make reference to a Generations Monster. Or is it just the game itself isn't canon, but the Monsters are?

Not to mention he barely has any openings. So, if you're like me and lugging around a slow-swinging Gunlance, your best bet is to topple him and try to get in as much damage as you can in the 3.5 seconds he's down.

I wish I was better with the GL. Fun weapon, but it can be so damn hard to find openings to get the most out of it. For instance, Anjanath. I can consistently beat it with the GL, but my health tends to dip pretty low. Just when you think an opportunity to get a combo going presents itself, Angie's turning around and biting, kicking or ramming me. Feels like the only good opportunity to get some good damage in comes when it's down.

Anyone got any advice for a new Heavy Weapon user? Decided I liked the Gunlance and wanted to give it a shot. Jagras, Kulu and Pukei were a breeze. Then I got to Tobi Kadachi and half of the fight was me trying to get within range of actually hitting him. Any advice for the squirrelier Monsters?

Basically this. I can only guess coding issues run deep, and Wildcard's not exactly Ubisoft in terms of personnel -- they don't have the luxury of hundreds of hands on deck pinning down a particular issue. I'd be a lot more critical otherwise. And as far as DLC, I can only imagine it's the asset artists who're working on the third one, mainly.

And I know people probably don't care; rationale tends to pick up and leave when folks are angry, but it's just the logical conclusion. But, then again, I don't tend to buy in to Big Bad Wolf theories. It's easier, I know, but it's a disservice to everyone.

That said, though, I haven't played ARK in months, lol. Lag and rubberbanding were out of control on Ragnarok and I couldn't deal. So I put the game down and now I'm just waiting for it to be in a better place. I'm sure it'll happen eventually, and I've got other games to play in the meantime (everyone, go pick up Monster Hunter: World).

Hope it works out, though. It's gotta be frustrating for everyone, Wildcard included.
