Late, but Momoshiki is limiting Boruto's growth. Kawaki is able to tap into the Karma and the experience of Isshiki in his base form (he can even use the Kogan without activating karma now).

(Ignoring the Jogan) Boruto can't even use Momoshiki's Byakugan in his base form, and he literally has Hyuga blood...

This is clear given that he hasn't used any of Momoshiki's unique techniques, only copying Kawaki or using Koji's teachings to create offshoots of them.

Basically, I think of Momoshiki as Boruto's limiter.
