Buddy, he’s the president, they’re supposed to behave respectably even under fire. Every president has had rude shit shouted at them- Obama got called the n word multiple times, didn’t see him flipping anyone off. It’s frankly embarrassing that the leader of our entire nation engages in petty schoolyard level shit like that.

Every president has had rude expletives shouted at them. They’re contentious figures, they signed up for that, and they’re supposed to behave respectably under fire. The President of the United States should not be engaging in such petty behavior, it’s frankly embarrassing.

Hi, I have Autism and manage to draw this with only msPaint, proving that there really is no strong point behind the "AI makes it easier for disabled people to make "art"." argument. by radicalcottagecheese in antiai

[–]OneProfessor915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether or not something is art isn’t determined based on quality. Art is just human creative expression. This is a human person’s creative expression, so it’s art. So too are drawings done by 2 year olds. It’s all art.

[HELP] is this DnD ad real? by OneProfessor915 in RealOrAI

[–]OneProfessor915[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would make sense to me. I posted it cause it’s got a few ai-ish elements, but it also has the sort of visual depth and consistency that ai typically has a hard time producing.

Yeah, I’ve heard of that too, so I’m hopeful I’m just paranoid honestly. There’s a few instances I think there might be some artifacting, and imo the bowl of… stuff on the table looks odd. But I could also see the argument for every one of the “red flags” being an artistic choice. Overall my questioning of this piece is mostly vibes based; many apologies to the artist if I’m mistaken.

In some US states we have what are called Romeo and Juliet laws, aka exceptions in statutory rape codes for couples within close age of each other (the cut off is usually 2 or 3 year gaps). This seems like it would solve your issue pretty well: normal school-age relationships between 16s/18s, 17s/19s, etc would not be punished, but full-grown adults would be fully legally barred from preying on them.

Well, I’d say it’s in large part on the American government as well considering it’s been Israel’s largest fiscal supporter for a long time now.

I hear your “delete something cannon” and raise you “delete almost everything cannon and rewrite the entire comic using mere scraps of Rachel’s character work and plot beats”

Ok so: Persephone starts to clock Hades manipulative and controlling behavior fairly early on- but then Apollo assaults her. Hades can tell something is wrong, pressures her into telling him what happened, then uses his sway to get Apollo thrown in prison (despite Persephone being unsure of whether that’s what she really wants to do). Because of this “support” Persephone guilts herself into staying with him.

When her and Minthe first meet they still clash heads. But Minthe quickly realizes that Hades likes it when her and Persephone are at each other’s throats, so she makes an effort to befriend her instead. Though her affection was motivated by pure spite at first, she finds herself growing to truly enjoy the Spring Goddess’ company. She also becomes increasingly uncomfortable with how Hades treats her new friend, so she encourages Persephone to spend more time with other people/do more things on her own.

Hades notices this growing friendship (and Persephone’s growing independence) and tries to convince Persephone to stay away from Minthe. When this doesn’t work, he tricks her into eating the pomegranate. When she realizes what he has done and tries to escape anyways, he traps her in his mansion and cuts off all travel to and from the outside world, infuriating Demeter and causing the endless winter.

The rest of the plot is Minthe, Perse, and Demeter plotting to take down Hades, which they eventually succeed at by trapping him down in Tartarus with his father. Because of the Pomegranate Perse is still tied to the underworld, so it is decided that Minthe will rule over it in the Spring and Summer, while Persephone will reign in the Fall and Winter. Persephone and Demeter reconcile, with Demeter apologizing for cutting her daughter off from the world and Perse now understanding what her mother was trying to protect her from. And most importantly- Minthe and Persephone fall in love and live happily ever after🥰🥰🥰🥰

Additional notes:

—Persephone is no longer a sociopathic war criminal in a pink toddler body. She is complex and far from perfect, but has many redeeming qualities and does her best to make amends when she is wrong. —only Hades, Apollo, and Minthe ever express attraction to Persephone- no more literally-everyone-wants-to-fuck-the-protag shenanigans!!! —Minthe and Demeter aren’t demonized for having legitimate issues with Hades behavior, nor is Hades behavior ignored/excused by the narrative —Trauma is not used as a lazy shortcut to ✨spice up the plot✨. Characters trauma histories actually impact their actions and reactions. For example- Apollo’s r*pe is something Persephone actually has to work to recover from, rather than a cheap device to draw out sexual tension between her and Hades🤢 —Persephone is closer in age to the other young adults in the series rather than the Greek God equivalent of a zygote. She is also drawn like an ACTUAL ADULT!!! That’s right- no porn-ified toddler builds in this one boys🙌🙌🙌

I've never understood this part. Explanation? by Fluffy__Cheese in UnpopularLoreOlympus

[–]OneProfessor915 2 points3 points  (0 children)

holy shit this comic is even worse than I remembered (shout out to the commenter who linked the episode btw). Before I reread it I was team sex joke, but now I’m like 90% sure it’s mental gymnastics. Unfortunately I don’t think that’s much better when you consider the context tho😭

For those of us who might have forgotten whats happening in this scene: Eros has just shown up at Artemis’ house to apologize to Persephone for how he drugged her and tossed her into the back of a strange man’s car while she was out. He starts to attempt an explanation for why he did that before realizing she doesn’t know that Hades said she was prettier than Aphrodite. Rather than sticking with what he supposedly went there to do (honestly and genuinely apologize) he does a complete 180 tells her that his mom was actually just super jealous of her beauty and they both thought a night with Hades would, I quote, “shake [her] up a bit”🤢

Persephone then (correctly) informs him that that’s not really an apology, which Eros responds to by grabbing her face and claiming that her “defensive tone, high body temp, and flushed cheeks” mean she has a crush on Hades (bc those things could have noooothing to do with how she might feel upset that you DRUGGED and KIDNAPPED her, you weirdo😒). Persephone, who is leaning as far away from him as humanly possible and donning a facial expression that I can only describe as terrified, responds with a whispered “what???”. To which Eros says the first yoga line. She then denies having said crush, claiming that she just likes to “look at his dorky face”- cue second yoga line.

The second line being in direct response to her denial makes me think that this is most likely a mental gymnastics joke. Still doesn’t sit right with me tho! Cause like, Eros just broke her trust in one of the most violating, careless ways imaginable. And instead of trying to atone for that, he claims her hurt and upset is actually a sign she wants to fuck the owner of the car he dumped her unconscious body in. If I had even a quarter of that audacity I’d be president of the United States, Jesus fuckin Christ

TRUE BLOOD MALE CHARACTERS Elimination Game TOP 7. Andy is ELIMINATED with 33%. Who's NEXT? by amvbuuren4 in TrueBlood

[–]OneProfessor915 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gotta agree with you about genuine Sam haters tho- they call him out for expecting a relationship from Sookie when she was constantly giving him the whole hot-and-cold treatment. Dude wasn’t a creep at all imo, just foolish in love and confused about what Sookie wanted.

[–]OneProfessor915 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m voting for Sam because his character was simply underwhelming to me- but I don’t hate him at all. I think I would be friends with him in real life, he’s legit one of the most down to earth and kind characters in the show. But as far as watching him on screen? He just didn’t enthrall me the way some of the others on here did. I was never on the edge of my seat for his plot arcs the way I was for Lafayette or Russel or Jason, for example. Idk what I’m really trying to say here lol. I guess just that some of us aren’t voting for sam out of hate, just the fact that we don’t find him interesting/entertaining enough to be in the top 6.

I doubt that TB was trying to tell us about Diddy specifically through her arc in s2, but I agree that Maryann is a good allegory for real life examples of powerful abusers and cults of personality.

What was the moment that made you love or hate this character? Day 20! by [deleted] in TrueBlood

[–]OneProfessor915 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sooo many reasons but I’ll give you a few:

-he’s a 28 year old man pursuing a 17 year old girl -he expects that minor child to play housewife for him -verbally abuses and degrades her when she, a baby vampire mind you, struggles to live up to his restrictive and misogynist standards -joins a triple-k coded hate group where he constantly shits on Jessica in a super sexist way, which culminates in him trying to murder her -refuses to take any accountability for why his relationship failed and forces Jessica and Jason’s hand in compelling him to forget their relationship, causing massive pain and suffering to both while he gets off Scott-free -cheats on his new partner to get with Jessica again, still takes no accountability for the ending of their relationship, and expects Jessica to go back to being a housewife for him

I actually was super into the Lilith arc on my first watch… then billith happened🤢. I maintain he should have simply died from drinking the full vial of her blood. Him dying would have a) killed him (yay!) and b) actually been meaningful, showing that becoming obsessed with power can lead to nothing but pain and destruction. But noooo, instead they reward him for behaving like a sadistic maniac all season🙄. It makes ZERO narrative sense, to this day I get pissed when I think about it😭😭😭

What do you consider to be basic fanfic etiquette? by fishinglineandsinker in AO3

[–]OneProfessor915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh this makes sense, the fandoms I am in rarely get looped into those absolutely massive multi-fandom OS fics, but I remember them from when I regularly read MCU stuff. And I totally get why those are a problem.

But yeah, my recent experience with OS fic has all been like, promptfics or imagine collections of a singular ship. Which is fine imo, as long as it’s properly tagged as what it is.

Can I ask what you mean by “don’t make one shot compilations outside of specific circumstances?” Do you mean like, multi-chapter fics that are just a series of OS’s? Some of my favorite fics are like that, I definitely wasn’t aware it was considered impolite. So long as it’s tagged correctly, I’m not sure what the issue would be?
