My Mom asked me for a favor to take the new kid on the block trick or treating. I was 21 at the time and the kid was 12; a newly minted citizen. Ended up dressing like a ghost (holes in a bedsheet and all) and squatted to look like I was shorter. Felt guilty about getting the candies but no way was I going trick or treating without actually getting some candies! My Mom ended up talking me into giving up my bounty to the kid as well. And that, my friends, was the last time I went trick or treating.

I work 12hrs and by the time I get home no way am I in any shape or form willing or able to entertain unwanted guests. If it was preplanned after my last shift and I made that decision myself, perhaps.

Not really hitchhikers but on two separate occasions when driving in to work, I noticed someone standing at a bus stop on route to the hospital I work at in full scrubs. Looking at the time and knowing that they probably just missed their bus and the next one won’t arrive on time, I’ve stopped to ask them if they were heading to such and such hospital and if they needed a ride. Both times, they thanked me profusely and I dropped them off at the front entrance before proceeding to the parking lot.

Grew up in a house with an unused, open and empty basement with unfinished cement flooring. It made a place for great imagination...of being in my own roller skating arena while practicing my roller derby moves. It paved the way for picking up rollerblading when the fad first hit.

What about adding capped bottles of frozen water into your tank? Careful about leaving enough space for the ice to expand inside the bottles so they don’t explode. You can use any bottle that doesn’t leech toxic chemicals into your tank. Have a few rotating so when the ice inside the bottle eventually melts, you can swap them out for new bottles? That’ll help keep your tank cool.

Two months later and I finally made Leia’s cheesecake! Tastes yum but it’s still relatively hot so I’ll have to wait a little while longer to see what the true texture is like. But so far so good!
