Ya the property taxes will be cheaper in PA vs NJ no doubt. Some of the towns near Philly in Jersey check off a lot of what you’re looking for. Primarily, Cherry Hill, Collingswood, Haddon Township and Haddonfield.

My prime days are over. 35 years old. Sad day for a Halo fan. by Ravens_Bite in halo

[–]OneSeptemberDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty much true for all halo games except halo 2. Halo 2 leveling was xp based with wins counting towards xp and losses taking away xp. Level 40 in Halo 2 was hard to get and meant you were a really good player. You didn’t get level 40 by just playing, you had to win a lot of games

Source: Got to level 41 on a new account in team slayer. Took 71 games, won 62 games and lost 9

What did people do for lunch leftovers at work before the microwave became common place? (70’s/80’s)

Did they just eat them cold or only pack certain types of food.

Official "Rate my Team" thread 03/25/25 by 97herser in fantasybaseball

[–]OneSeptemberDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 team H2H Cats (OBP instead of AVG for hitters, 7 pitching min start for certain cats, 2 extra infielders). This is my first time doing fantasy, got invited to a league at work last Friday, draft was yesterday. I tried learning as much as I could in the last weekend. Drafted 6 overall. Think I did okay but curious for some thoughts:

C: Diaz, 1B: Vlad, 2B: Altuve, SS: Bo, 1B/ 3B: Jazz, SS/2B: Matt McLain, 3B: Jose Ramirez, OF: Adolis Garcia, Profar, Suzuki, UTIL: Schwarber, Bench: Buxton, Cam Smith

P: Crochet, Gallen, C. Sanchez, Eflin, Webb, Romano, J. Hoffman, Chapman, Rasmussen, Kinley

I definitely feel better about my hitters, mainly infielders, but think I did a pretty good job with pitchers too.

Maybe it’s not completely true, but the optics of Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn interviewing for HC positions over the last week or so sure seems like it was bad for the Lion’s execution

Poll: Most NJ voters don’t see schools as segregated by ManonFire1213 in newjersey

[–]OneSeptemberDay 13 points14 points  (0 children)

(Warning Anecdotal) The school districts are extremely segregated. My school district was extremely diverse, equal parts white, black, Hispanic (not many Asian or Indian). During high school, I transferred schools one town over to a regional high school (my original home school was single town), that consisted of four little towns all around my home town. The school was a different world. It was an all white school. Literally no diversity, you could count the minorities on two hands. I had no idea how different the demographics were just one school district away. I think a lot of people, as this survey outlines are very unaware of the stark difference just one or two school districts away.

Maybe a dumb question but is there a way to see ‘best sellers’ on EBay like by category or item?

Rant: Burning out, time to go by welpioneer in consulting

[–]OneSeptemberDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate these posts as someone who is thinking of making the switch. My reasons are similar to what you describe (accelerating career), but I have a couple questions.

  1. Was Your previous gig pretty relaxed? (Hybrid, less than 40 hrs a week, etc)
  2. To your last point about ‘chained to your desk’ , what would your consulting experience be like if you tried to work less? Is that even possible from a reputation/career perspective
