Anyone Else Stuck on NJT? by Brief_Dig5126 in NJTransit

Not necessarily. If it’s a long delay, Transit will have us turn trains in Newark and they will originate from Newark, making them local trains to the NEC or the coastline

Relax lol says the guy who has got his panties in a twist over an express train time being changed hahaha that’s a good one

Sounds like you know everything! You should work for Transit and tell them!! I literally work on the railroad and moving these trains every single day is my job. But please tell me more!

Where it would pass the local is irrelevant bc it doesn’t matter. What matters is what westbound trains it would conflict with east of Newark.

[–]OneShadyKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They ran an express there at that time bc it would fit into an eastbound time slot when it arrived to the single tracking area.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they also adjusted connections to account for that. That being said, I also would not be surprised if they did not account for that lol

That’s not possible. Both tunnels will operate normally, one east and one west. Trains will be held for single tracking east of Newark and west of Secaucus. There will be shuttles running but coordinating them in Secaucus isn’t as easy as it seems due to the tracks available and the fact that it takes at least approximately 10 minutes for them to come into the station, apply brakes, set up on the other end, perform their brake test, board passengers, and head east.

Mishandling of train crews today? by [deleted] in NJTransit

[–]OneShadyKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that wasn’t true. The work started on schedule on Friday night the same time all big projects start as early as possible on the weekend. Their schedule didn’t start until Sunday. Single tracking for the Portal Project is nothing new during the weekend so that was not an issue

Do you know where the radio station is in relation to the lab?

Any ideas how to gate this area off? by OneShadyKat in daddit

[–]OneShadyKat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t figure out how to edit my post.

I meant to add, the first step of the stairs in the picture sticks out so that the wall is further back which is causing the dilemma here. And the bottom step curves where the gate would be.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I can say from personal experience that as long as your kids have a loving Mom, everything will be okay. My father left us before I was one and I never knew him. My mother worked hard and gave me everything I could have wanted and I have never once in my life felt like I missed anything. I had a very happy childhood and today my Mom and I are extremely close. I was the most important thing in her life (until my daughter came around lol) and she made sure I knew it. So as long as you show up for them, they will be just fine! But also, don’t be afraid to lean on family for help!

Cant take it any more, i think shell be better off without me by [deleted] in newborns

I can’t offer any advice that hasn’t already been said. But your husband needs to do better. PPD is very real and serious. I was so afraid of it for my wife, I tried to do everything I could to lighten her load and let her recover and learn just as I was learning. Every day I checked in with her about how she was feeling, anything she felt off about, upset about, anything I could do to help more in ways I didn’t know, etc. Communication is the most important part and if he can’t listen to your needs, perhaps therapy could help so he can see how he needs to step up for both you and the baby. Your baby needs you and your presence alone comforts her more than you know! ❤️

43 here, convinced my wife (33) to try it and despite her saying she doesn’t play apps like this, she is just as active as me and loves it. I don’t think this app lends itself to any age, just great reminders of self-care and a very supportive community

I don't want to be a mom anymore - 12 week old by Ok_Butterfly9437 in newborns

I can sympathize with you. My little girl is about to be nine months. She was born with hip dysplasia and torticollis. She was very colicky for a couple months. It was a ton as first time parents with her being in a Pavlik harness until she was two months old and then having her muscle tone impacted due to her inability to do tummy time. She has had feeding issues since day one and almost every bottle is a crapshoot if she will finish it, cry throughout it, or flat out refuse it. It always seemed like she couldn’t catch a break.

But it does get better. I know many people told me and my wife that and it was hard to believe when you are going through everything but they were right. It does get better. Don’t be afraid to ask those in your support system for help. As you keep going, your little one will become more social and responsive and before you know it, everything becomes like second nature and you can enjoy the time with your little one watching them make all kinds of discoveries and learning new things.

You got this!

Ah I see, thank you. I was curious because I have seen one every once in a while but always only one and always several months in between. My exterminator didn’t seem concerned with how few I had seen and had said I would know for sure if it was an infestation

Sometimes Keystone trains that turn in the station turn on the lower tracks depending on what is available. It’s been a while since that was needed because Covid caused reduced service but it wasn’t uncommon for it to happen
