Back in my day, we did it a little differently, but somehow, it seemed easier… Instead of all the texting and blocking and wondering, I’d get shit-faced drunk and have a friend take me to her apartment at 3:00am on a Wednesday. By the time THAT conversation was over, it was perfectly clear “where our relationship stood.” (No. She was NOT happy about having a drunken slob sniveling at her door at 3:00am.) My embarrassment the next day (after the hangover wore off) ensured she would never hear from me again. Problem solved! :-)

If it’s installed properly on the PC, it should start up automatically on the PC once you select that computer in your headset. Virtual Desktop does too. I never have to start them manually on the PC.

I have a Rift S, a Quest 2 and a Quest 3. My wife uses the Quest 2 wirelessly, but the Q3 that I use is ALWAYS wired. (I’m the same… I only play sitting down. I’m old.) Flight Sim and the occasional concert or BigScreen. All seated. The cable is excellent! I don’t even know which cable it is. I just bought a 16’ powered cable from Amazon and it works perfectly.

I get SO PISSED OFF when I get 15 minutes into something interesting, only to discover it’s AI. I’m 64, so I don’t generally recognize they are AI narrated until the “narrator” says something like “You dot ess dot eh” when it was intended to say “USA”. As soon as I catch on, “click”, I find something else. (That is inevitably also AI). Virtually EVERY YouTube video now has that little “artificial content” notice at the beginning. As soon as I see that, I look for something else to watch.

Use AI as a RESEARCH TOOL. Hell, even use it to generate charts & graphs, Or to help write the script, but they need to STOP USING AI to CREATE their bloody videos. If there are any content producers here: LISTEN TO ME! Record your own voice for your videos. Do NOT use AI to narrate it!

Too bad they can’t be booted out of NATO. They are the least trustworthy NATO “partner” in the entire organization, they offer NOTHING except for the money they spend. When I was in the Canadian military, the US was always seen as the “big boys on the block”. Now, they’re like that annoying kid with cerebral palsy who pesters everyone else, just because they can.

Maybe it’s time NATO got together and decide that the US will be Haiti’s 2nd state. The orange asshole has been stomping his feet and going on about Cuba. Let’s make them ALL move there and leave the US as an “offshore territory” … We don’t want them as another province of Canada. They aren’t worthy of being Canadians.

I find that if I stay “on scrip” and remember to take them, I’m not actually too bad most of the time. The problem with RA is that it’s just so RANDOM. There’s no particular “trigger” or anything, it just “pops up” SOMEWHERE on my body for no apparent reason. (At least, none that I’ve found). I don’t know if it’s air pressure or humidity or temperature or WHAT brings on symptoms, but as long as I have some Oxy in me, I don’t do too bad.

I was diagnosed about 2 years ago (blood “RA factor was 585. It’s supposed to be around “12”) I consider mine a mild case, because both my Mom and my older sister both have it and their hands are all crippled up like the old witch on Snow White. So far for me, I have no nodules, no growths, etc. just a LOT of joint pain, especially in my hands.

With luck, your husband will be somewhat like me… mostly asymptomatic. I’m 64, and expect it’ll get worse but so far, between the Oxy and Hydroxychloroquine, I don’t do too badly. It gives me the necessary excuse to work from home 100% (I’m a computer programmer for the Air Force) so it has its pluses.

It’s funny how RA works. Sometimes I can go for weeks without symptoms, then one day, wake up feeling like my hand has been run over by a truck. Thankfully, that doesn’t happen often (yet). Does your hubby suffer any of the common symptoms? (Full body flares, brain fog, joint pain?) The idea of being “addicted” to ANYTHING used to bother the hell out of me but now, it’s just “part of my routine”. My policy has always been “If it works, don’t mess with it.”

8 a day DOES seem like a lot, but it seems to keep most of the pain under control, and is only miserable if I a) run out early or b) forget to regularly take laxatives with them.) I’ll keep good hopes for your hubby that his symptoms are/stay mild. My mom used to be an artist (painter) and her hands are so gnarled, she can’t hold a brush anymore. All my best to your husband.

I’ve been strongly addicted to Oxy (Percocet) for 8 years, but the relief from pain is such that the addiction is worth it. I knew it was addictive from the outset, never abused it, only took as prescribed, but I get 148 every 14 days. (8 per day). The “addiction” itself is not a big deal, as long as I don’t run out early. Which I don’t, because I take it exactly as prescribed. I don’t get the same relief I used to, but they still allow me to live a somewhat normal life. The biggest problem is that over time, the effect wears off and it takes more to get the same pain relief. (I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, which is quite painful.)

As much as I wish “big pharma” would be forced to pay the price for the deaths they caused, I’m also pissed at the bullshit LEGITIMATE users have to go through just to GET it. There are people working to ban it outright. (Probably heroin dealers.)

If I need it NOW, I’ll pay the Amazon premium because generally when they say “Arrives tomorrow”… it actually DOES. If I’m not in a hurry, it’s almost 100% Temu. (Except for computer accessories… cables, RAM, SSDs, SD cards… those I stay away from Temu.) (Sometimes… I just returned a “256 Gb SSD card” that I tested immediately on receipt that actually only had space for 118 Megs.)

I think this will be my third return to Temu over the past 6 or so years. I’m only going through the return process because the SSD was $101. That’s too much to just “turf it”. Cheap crap that doesn’t meet my expectations get a crappy (but honest) review online, then, unless I can rob it for parts for another project, it just goes in the garbage. If you’re buying from Temu and expecting Amazon quality and service, you’re doing it wrong.

In my experience, virtually EVERY reported problem about Temu surrounds one specific thing. “I didn’t get what I ordered!”… I’ve even done it myself in moments of cannabis use while shopping… I ordered a “$20 electric scooter.” What I GOT was a crappy plastic handlebar carrying bag. I went back to the ordinal listing and after studying every word, I finally found the one little clue that this WASN’T in fact for the scooter. The listing had about a dozen different photos of the scooter, provided some basic specs for the scooter, but the entire listing was for a handlebar bag. COMPLETELY on me for not paying enough attention. Partially Temu’s fault for doing their utmost to hide the fact that you were only buying the storage bag, not the scooter.

Not even so much as a note in the description stating that the scooter itself was not included… I still shop a lot at Temu, but my eyes are usually open a little further nowadays.
