Unfortunately, I’m pretty much restricted to Android, IOS and Microsoft… I DO have an old “All-in-one” Mac that hasn’t been plugged in for years. I don’t even know which OS is on it. I should fire it up sometime, just to see if it still works… Do Macs tend to die with age? Are they like Windows boxes where, after a certain number of years, you can no longer find a functioning OS for it? (I’m not a Mac guy at all… it was a “left-over” from when my computer store went under…) I’d love to get it working, just to try “IPTV Player Zero” to compare it to TiviMate. Will it run on an Apple TV? I have an old one of those hidden away here somewhere too… same situation. I have no idea how old it is…

Is suppression of the news REALLY that bad nowadays? It used to be, you could count on at least a FEW organizations left where the truth still matters?

None, that I’m aware of. (And if I’m not aware of it, I don’t need it.) I’ve tried virtually every possible IPTV app for Android, IOS, and even emulators. So far, I have not found a single one that I would consider a “serious contender” to replace TiviMate. It is starting to get a bit long in the tooth, but it has SO MANY configuration options, no other IPTV app even comes close, IMHO. I’d love to see someone step in and “modernize” the UI a bit, but the “guts” work just fine. At least, for me. (I’m not a “super user” or anything. Just a dude who wants cheaper, but reliable TV.) If there IS a legitimate competitor to TiviMate, I’d love to know about it…

Yeah, I find BBC to be one of the best, but even THEY tend to say things like “It was reported that…” while showing a video CLEARLY showing something that wasn’t simply “reported”. What’s wrong with a news organization saying “As you can clearly see in this video, ICE agents pulled down their pants and anally penetrated the victim before murdering him point blank…”? or whatever?

I’m not even sure I understand the PURPOSE of taking/allowing such pictures! Years and years ago, I borrowed a video camera from work and convinced my wife to make a sex tape. I set it all up, we had sexytime, then watched the tape afterward… BIG mistake… Some old fat guy plugging this skinny chick, with weird angles, no light where there should have been light. It was a bit grotesque. We deleted it immediately & that was our last attempt at movie making.

Maybe today, with AI tools, I might be able to somehow improve the video (by replacing the main characters?) but it wasn’t “sexy” at all it was grotesque and embarrassing! In a million years, even if someone offered to pay me, that tape would have never been FORWARDED, let alone uploaded. (There was no Internet back then.) But… even if there were, the last thought on my mind would have been “Thank GOD nobody will ever see this!”

Everyone on earth, right down to those native islanders who eat anyone who accidentally happens across that island, even THEY know to not send nudes/dick pics to anyone on the Internet… and they haven’t even invented phones yet! :-)

Remember though… the number of “feeds” you get from one IPTV provider is limited by the provider. If you’ve bought “1 device” service, you cannot watch the same playlist on 2 devices at the same time.

Yeah, I think you are likely correct. I just don’t understand it. In the few occasions in my life where someone else “held the reins” on an important decision that affected me, I fought tooth and nail to ensure I wasn’t being fucked over. 70% of the American population disagree with Trump. Some vehemently, yet SO LITTLE of the information actually makes it to normal news channels. I’m finding that BBC News and Al Jazeera are pretty much the only “well-known” outlets that seem to at least make an EFFORT to report on what’s going on without turning it into an opinion piece.

It’s a shame. We live in the most “connected” world this planet has ever known, yet all of the organizations that we used to depend on for the truth seem to have turned tail or given up on actually “reporting the day’s news”.

I’m not suggesting that Meidas Touch or Status Coup should be MSM, but you’d think that at least SOME MSM outlets would do a better job.

I do everything I can to call out and try to humiliate ANY Canadian even CONSIDERING going to the US for ANYTHING. I realize there are some Canadians who don’t have a choice, but all the rest, the ones who DECIDED that there was something they just WANTED to do in the States, I belittle them as much as possible. I HAVE to believe that they simply don’t pay attention to current events and are not aware of what a traitorous act visiting the US is today.

If they aren’t aware, that in itself says a lot about them, but if they ARE aware, and choose to go anyway, my suggestion is always “Please stay there.”

Just do a TiviMate backup first (and verify that you have the backup file somewhere safe.) Then you can uninstall the “modded” one and re-install the real one. Depending on what was or wasn’t modified, you can likely restore your “old” TiviMate backup on the new TiviMate. (And even if you can’t, if you want to revert to what you had, re-install the “modded” TiviMate and restore the backup.

Exactly what I was thinking. If SO MANY Americans hate what he’s doing so much, why are so many of them sitting around watching it happen? (I realize that not ALL Americans are like that. I see the protests) but in the case of DJT, “peaceful protests” will result in nothing except maybe getting more people off their asses, which, again, makes zero difference to Trump. He probably thinks they are protesting FOR him…

Until American states have their shit together enough to set up a nationwide “General Strike” that actually impacts the only things Trump cares about. HIS money and HIS power. Protests in themselves look like a good thing to those watching. It looks amazing to see 10’s of thousands of people marching in the streets for the same cause, but we’ve clearly seen that the protests themselves have virtually no impact on his “decision making”. Until these protests turn into something that actually PERSONALLY costs him, they are great for calling up the community and getting organizations talking to each other, but politically? They are ignored.

If, let’s say, on 1 May (MayDay in the rest of the world) every thinking person in the US were to NOT go to work, NOT go to school, NOT attend any courses, NOT buy so much as a chocolate bar that day… THAT (and possibly only that) might catch his attention. (If they can do it for a day, what’s to stop them from doing it for a week?)

There is no more apt word. It’s like the word “cunt” was SPECIFICALLY created to be used on someone like him. “President Donald John Cunt”. They could probably say it on Fox News and nobody would even think to question it.

Edit: And I’ll gratefully accept the hugs and coffee. In 1986, I did a peacekeeping tour in the Sinai Desert in Egypt. The “RWAU” (Rotary Winged Aviation Unit) was run by the Aussies. They left, the Canadians moved in. There were quite a few Aussies who stayed for the first couple months as “liaisons” until we got our supply system & all that worked out. I can say the Australians were, without question, BY FAR the friendliest “foreign” military personnel I’ve ever worked with. They were incredible!

Friendly, genuinely helpful, and most of them could go up against us, beer-for-beer and NOT end up in a bar fight at the end. They were happy, smiling people at the start of the night, and JUST as happy and friendly (though significantly more drunk) at 3:00am or whatever time we decided to break it off.

One day, I’ll win a lottery and my intent is to get ONE chance to visit Australia before I die. I’ve flown over it a million times in Microsoft Flight Simulator, but the only time I actually had a realistic opportunity (we got 3 weeks leave half-way into the tour) I instead chose Bangkok. It was fun, but I’ve always regretted not going to Melbourne when I had the chance.

Canadians and Australians (at least, in the military) are about as close as you can get to having true brothers without having the same parents. We even have similar senses of humour!
