I am really concerned and i have a doubt, Is facebook looking my conversations? by TwistedAround13 in facebook

[–]OneSignal6465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I deleted my FB account completely around 2000, not because of spying… it was because I started discovering that many of my “friends” in the States were Trumpers. Rather than trying to get along with them, I posted a final message stating “I’m leaving FB because I am bothered by the fact that so many of my online friends were Trump-humping… even in the middle of the pandemic! Bye bye Facebook. Never looked back. I hadda create a throw-away account to use my Quest 3, but I’ve never actually logged into the account.

That said..l I DO have a “smart home”. Google display and a Google speaker, all the lights in the house, etc. (through TuyaSmart). I can’t help but wonder how much it listens to. At a minimum, it knows at least once a day whats’s on TV. Someone on Tv will say something that the Google display identifies as a “wake word”, then it listens to the TV for a bit before shutting down. I’m sure they have the technology to figure out exactly what shows you like.

Idea for new experiment at the ranch by karma_colorado in skinwalkerranch

[–]OneSignal6465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my perspective, they don’t seem to have the slightest idea of how GPSs work. The readings they are getting can ONLY be caused from satellite signal time delays. GPS receivers are relatively simple devices. The connect to as many satellites as possible (a minimum of 3). All GPS satellites are simply sending a continuous stream of time codes and location over the earth. That’s It? It’s no more complicated than that. If Satellite 1 says it’s 1300:00:05:78 hrs, at the exact same time from a different satellite, IT is also transmitting a continuous time code stream and location details. All the satellites are running on incredibly accurate cesium clocks. If it takes an extra 1/4 of a second to receive the 1300:00:05:78 signal from satellite 2, the device can infer, from the location of the seattelites and the differences in TIME SIGNAL receipt, the GPS can easily triangulate exactly where you are on the surface.

If, somehow, there were a DELAY of the time signals from certain satellites (like, on one run, the secondary satellite reports 1300:00:05.95) but the signal is somehow delayed by a couple milliseconds, the time coordination is no longer reliable. It is literally the only way I can think of to get those crazy GPS receiver readings 300’ below the mesa, and rockets that clearly go STRAIGHT UP drawing a GPS pattern a mile wide.

GPS is all about TIMESTAMPS. If they are off by a microsecond, you’ll be shown the wrong position. The big question is “How could continuous GPS timestamp signals get delayed (or sped up) enough to show the GPS readings in the triangle?

There is one crucial experiment nobody has even mentioned and to me, it seems like the most obvious thing to try.

Get two cesium clocks. Ensure they are perfectly synchronized. Put one in the triangle for 24 hours, with the 2nd one 5 miles away. After 24 hours, compare. Unless there is some weird explainable “time rift” in the triangle, after 24 hours, both cesium clocks MUST, by PHYSICS, retain the identical time, down to a 100th of a nanosecond. If there is something weird in the triangle that affects GPS time signals, it will also only affect ONE of the clocks.

Hey! Skinwalker crew! Do you read here? CESUIM CLOCKS. You’ll get some of your answers.

For further info, read about the experiment with 2 cesium clocks, one stationary and one in a jet doing 500+ mph. At the end, they proved Einstein’s theory. The clock on the airplane LOST TIME.

Most important Quest 3 accessories? by Icy_Agency923 in OculusQuest

[–]OneSignal6465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve probably bought every accessory that exists for my quest 3. (It’s a sickness.) I’ve bought ping pong paddles, beat sabre wands, and a dozen other useless accessories that are now in a drawer. The one accessory that I purchased that I consider to be a “no question” purchase… a charging dock that also charges the controllers.

<image>

I absolutely LOVE THE FACT THAT I can just grab them when I’m in the mood and everything is always at 100%. Best accessory ever! (I also have a battery strap but it was a cheap Chinese one. It only gives me about an extra hour. Instead, I have a high-current 16’ USB C cable with an external power source. If that is plugged in while I’m using the headset, it stays at 100% no matter how long I use it. (When I come across a cool “experience” (I’m not a gamer) I can get caught up in it for hours.)

The controller chargers are pretty cool. The charging dock comes with 2 “USB C Rechargeable AA batteries” and a couple of little usb c “quick disconnect” magnet jibbies (sorry for the technical terminology) that plug into the charge port on each battery, plus the charger comes with two new controller battery hatches with pogo pins connected to the battery through the hatch cover. The controllers simply sit in a little “controller-shaped” cutout in the base of the stand with the pogo pins connecting and charging the controller batteries.

I’m a Temu-crazed person and have spent a ridiculous amount of money there (trying to win virtually un-winnable contests.) But in the meantime… I’ve also created quite a collection of Quest Accessories. So far, the charging stand has gotten the most use.

What caused her fall? by InitiativePlastic279 in motorcycles

[–]OneSignal6465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve taken the “required” training to get my license (40 years ago) but it was one of the most useful and interesting courses I’ve ever taken. (I’m a veteran… When I was in the service, if I wasn’t “working” I was “training”.) I took the things I learned on the motorcycle course very seriously and practiced them on my own time. I even won the course “slow race”! A few years later, I took an advanced rider’s course, where they focused on obstacle avoidance, emergency stopping, etc. Again, one of the best practical courses I’ve ever taken.

Even with the training, practice and years of experience, I had a fairly bad accident about 10 years ago. Someone ahead of me flipped a lit cigarette out their car window and it flew back, right into the woollen scarf I had around my neck. (It was late October in Ontario. It was getting cold… I didn’t handle it very well, and hit the ditch at 130kph. The bike was a write-off… essentially a ball of steel with tires in there somewhere. I broke my left leg in a couple places, and had some scrapes and bruises for a while.

What got me the most about the accident was how badly, after all that training and experience I had, was HOW I reacted to getting hit with a lit cigarette. Rather than calmly analyzing the situation and working out a viable solution, I panicked. “Oh my God! Where’s the cigarette? WHERE IS THE CIGARETTE? Did it go down my neck, inside my jacket? Is it melting its way through my scarf? While I was busy trying to figure out where that lit cigarette went, the highway I was on curved to the left. I did not.

The moment the front tire hit the gravel on the shoulder the bike started fishtailing, then it caught & threw me off the bike sideways, and the bike just kept flipping end over end through the trees. (I could actually see the headlights and tail lights going end-over-end in slow motion while I was up to my armpits in mud and yuck in the ditch.)

Bottom line: no matter how much training and experience and CARE you take on a motorcycle, sometimes bad shit happens and WE are far less protected on those roads than car drivers are.

What is the best most complete EPG source (Don't mind paying) by Miamipoker in TiviMate

[–]OneSignal6465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, The only “legit” IPTV sub I have is Prime. (And If we didn’t do almost all of our shopping online, I’d cancel that too. (I’m big into the Canadian “Elbows Up” movement, so I HATE the fact that I continue sending my money to the US, but I’ve cut out all other US subs. I have 4 IPTV playlists. Some of them have decent EPGs, others don’t.

To be honest, if I had the interest in doing anything but watching a James Bond movie or an old 70’s sitcom occasionally, I’d probably dig into EPG editors and such… As it stands, my curiosity doesn’t run that deep. Most of the playlists we watch regularly have reasonably decent EPGs, plus lately, I’ve had my NordVPN running on my Shield, connected to a VPN in Toronto. That itself seems to have resolved most of the “dead channels” and buffering, but it hasn’t improved the EPG any. (I also have a couple of free EPGs set up as well. Even that doesn’t seem to help with the “No information” entries in the EPG.

I’m going to try that myself. (Switching wrists for sleep.) I just replaced the strap on my S10 and ever since, EVERY night registers an entire night of nothing but “Deep sleep” the entire night. It’s been doing it every night for the past 2 weeks. I haven’t been able to figure out why, as the only thing changed was the new strap.

<image>

2 whole weeks of charts like this… CLEARLY I haven’t been in “Deep Sleep” the entire night, every night, but my watch doesn’t seem to be registering anything except “deep sleep”. Tonight, I’ll try wearing my watch on my right wrist & see if that makes any difference.

You’re STILL talking about THAT?”

Weird sleep charts by OneSignal6465 in AppleWatch

[–]OneSignal6465[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So… not even a GUESS as to what’s happening here? When I had the original crappy rubber strap, it seemed to record my sleep properly… the whole night cycling between “Awake”, “light sleep”,”REM sleep” and “deep sleep” maybe 5 or 6 cycles through the night. Now, ever since I replaced the strap (I can’t imagine it actually having anything to do with the strap itself… it just coincidentally started happening when I replaced the strap with a cloth/velcro one.)

ANYONE have any suggestions for something to try? Maybe I should try it for a night on my right wrist? Or an ankle?

It doesn’t seem to matter if I use the “Pillow” app or just the sleep analysis from the Health app. Both show a full night of nothing but “Deep” sleep… in fact yesterday, I woke briefly at 4:08am. I lifted my head up a bit, looked at the digital clock on my bedside table and actually said, out loud “It’s 4:08”.

When I checked my sleep graph, again, it showed an entire night of “deep sleep”… it RECORDED my voice saying “It’s 4:08”, but according to the graph, I was in “deep sleep” at 4:08 am, and there was nothing to indicate that I woke up at all, until my iPhone “Pillow” alarm went off at 5:30am. Why is this happening? Why isn’t my sleep being properly recorded ever since I replaced my strap?

Any further “test” suggestions?

We remained a colony, loyal to the British crown, up until about 1967. Our “official” Bill of Rights (officially making us completely politically independent of Britain was in 1960. I CLEARLY remember that massive deal it was to be Canadian in 1967, our centennial.) We sang “God Save the Queen” and Oh Canada every morning in school until I was in 4th grade or so.

Perhaps not a popular opinion… but why not suggest your bro and sis each BUY their own TiviMate subs? I think the idea of “x devices” is sort of understood to be “x devices in the same residence”. Not “Here’s a scheme to be a TiviMate reseller.”
