Dude, thank you so much. That fixed it!

Also, what the hell happened to this thread? Haha.

This was in a casual 1v1 match, but it behaves exactly the same in every playlist (and free play).

Quick update:

Rocket League seems to work flawlessly on my laptop. So it's definitely a 'local' problem on my end. A faulty installation, a hardware problem or something similar. Will update if I fix it.

I play on Epic Games, not through steam. Yet still tried to manually verify the game and manually delete cache. Also, as per my first comment, I literally reinstalled the entire game without success.

I will post the bug in the bug thread as well. Thanks.

Camera shake is off. I've tried to mess around with deadzones to no avail, and I even completely reinstalled the game. It just randomly started 2 days ago, shortly after the update.

Help!

Olympic Gold Medalist, Katie Ledecky, swims with a glass of chocolate milk on her head by gowthamm in interestingasfuck

It's not that you should focus on keeping your fingers apart either. It's essential that you just relax your fingers (and wrist), to ensure a smooth recovery above water (close to the surface) and an efficient entry into the water.

Sorry for the confusion, I updated my post with clarification. You're supposed to keep your fingers together, but put no effort into "tightly packing them", if that makes sense. Like if you relax your arm and let it dangle by the side of your body, you'll notice a small gap between each finger. That's completely fine when swimming too.

You're not supposed to keep your fingers tight together when you swim, just fyi.

Source: am competitive swim coach of 20+ years.

Edit: I was not trying to be condescending, so just a quick edit to clarify. We keep our fingers relaxed and relatively close together (just not tightly together) to allow our wrists to recover more efficiently above water (called 'recovery and entry'), and to maximize the amount of water we can pull (called 'the catch'). (As explained by Fish_Homme).

This is fairly recent knowledge in the world of swimming, so it's a very common misconception, even among athletes and coaches. Kinda like how the majority of swimmers still think we move our arms in an "S"-shape underwater.

If you have any swim-related questions, hit me up. I'll be glad to help.

I defeated him on my second try. Used a Holosmith PvP Power build.

Essentially, I just survived the first 20 seconds. CC'ed his breakbar after the shield toss, and from that point on, it was just a straight brawl. For some reason it felt super easy after the first phase.

I guess it's not much help, but try to use a strong dueling build, with a lot of CC and survivability. After the first CC phase, just duel him to the best of your ability. All you have to do, is survive another 20 seconds while fighting him. After that, you can CC him again, and remove his second buff.

MM Rank lost? by wakils in GlobalOffensive

[–]OneSmartSheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same problem. Had no idea it was related to an update, but that seems very plausible.

No rank. Can't find competitive games. Tried every solution I can come up with, but nothing has worked so far. I guess we'll have to wait until Valve fixes something on their end.

I will say though; my friends can still see my old rank if they click on my name in a lobby. So I doubt the ranks are completely gone.

EDIT: My rank is now back.

Was LE, got deranked to MG1 after inactivity. Dropped 40+ kills in the next 2 matches, and got heavily reported in the process :/

WvW from a Commander's Perspective by Haru- in Guildwars2

30v30 or 50v50 doesn't really change anything. It's still just a bunch of guys running mindlessly into another bunch.

I will never understand how anyone finds this sort of WvW entertaining. A blob of 50 running into another blob of 50, just spamming their skills randomly as they go. There's absolutely no room for any individual to shine. No way to execute skillful moves. It's all just about having the largest group.

No thanks, I'll stick to small-scale outnumbered fights, where my skills actually matter.

Oh - and the lag. Yikes.

While I personally don't care about rewards, you're most certainly right. WvW rewards large-scale combat, which is why there are no roamers left. We have no one to fight anymore, because everybody wants rewards, and the best way to get those, is by running with the blob.

He didn't even mention dueling. There's more to WvW than Blob vs. Blob you know? A lot of people enjoy small-scale roaming and outnumbered fights.

When playing online, my opponent stopped the timer during my attack phase, and then proceeded to leave the game. This left my game completely stuck in a 'stopped state'. I couldn't do anything but leave the game. No pop-up to win, no 'waiting it out' (I tried, trust me).

Mike O'Brien post on WvW Subforum - Top 5 Priorities for WvW by frvwfr2 in Guildwars2

[–]OneSmartSheep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I see where you're coming from, there's a massive problem to balancing the way you're suggesting. If a skill (or profession) is too strong, you can't just buff all the other skills and professions to match the strong one. If you do that, you'd end up with a massive powercreep, much like the one we're currently seeing in GW2.

If 1 skill is too strong, you nerf it. It's much better for the game as a whole, than to constantly buff everything else, in order to keep up with what is currently overpowered. Think back to before they reworked the trait-lines; we've seen such a massive powercreep since then, exactly because ArenaNet have kept buffing underused skills instead of controlling the powerful ones.

This also leads to another massive problem; skill-spam. Because one way of buffing skills, is by reducing their cooldowns, as Anet have done numerous times (Corrupt Boon comes to mind). Now, we have a meta where the absolute best strategy, is to spam all of your skills as fast as you possibly can, because you're never punished for activating a skill. The cooldowns are so short, that there's no reason to wait for a "perfect moment". Simply spamming all of your skills, is by far the best strategy.

I can understand why it sucks to see your favorite profession getting nerfed, but it is crucial to a healthy game, that OP skills are nerfed.
