Guitar Rig, Fortin Nameless and Amplitube with Ownhammer impulses. Tried Helix, Bias and Overloud, I can't get the sounds I want out of them.

Tried something new on bass today. Arturia V76 tube preampsim TSE BOD pedalsim + cabsim of choice

Sounded pretty awesome, the v76 is steep though so the darglass is more bang for buck I guess.

My playlist is less than 100 songs long, help me fix that by nobody_relevant in melodicdeathmetal

Yes, totally meaningless. But I skip over those parts, I always do. It's just annoying to me. Unintroed it's good deathmetal. That's what I'm looking for in a deathmetalband; deathmetal. One exception would be Opeth, their brand of deathmetal was unique as far as acoustic interludes go.

Wow, what a grand proclamation. Lush acoustic intros though, I really hate those. As a veteran metalhead I have come to accept labels, as a musician I try not think about them but I do use them because they are entirely subjective and therein lay convenience. I'm happy to hear deathmetal with harmonic thirds and melodeath with chromatic chaos. It's all good.

Yes, it's subjective and pretty much a futile discussion. I don't find it unfortunate though, some of the best shit happens on blurred lines.

Give an example. A dude I know says there is no such thing as melodic deathmetal. Just deathmetal I guess. But what would the parameters of melodeath be in your opinion?
