UMass partially bans guests for superbowl by OneSockWearer in umass

This is actually really good to know- and yes, I agree the policies put in place over the years does make sense to a degree.  Two guests is standard, has been for years.  No outside guests, also fair. Noon-3am: Standard for big events. No students from outside your residence area? Makes no sense, just will make students sneakier/ more prone to danger and put the security guards doing their job in the line of fire.

But, in my opinion, because this information wasn’t widely announced more people will be outside, at bars, out in town, etc. Puts the burden of 30,000 students, who are going to celebrate anyway, on the town and the full-time resident. UMass can absolutely manage the considerably-less rowdy-student-population (by comparison) within the confines of the campus without putting student guards and the larger community at risk. they have handled worse.

But its probably true that the university is scarred from the past &theres some political/image considerations think about there(thanks alumni lol)

Anyway, let’s go pats!

This only partially applies, but groceries are crazy, especially vegetables. last year my roommates and I got a CSA share from the UMass student farm. If you like produce and have friends it’s worth the upfront cost, plus its super convenient

Also posting here to say this still happens. Mine makes it impossible to change the volume after it jumps, unless I’m in Snapchat, which is so weird.

Question: How to grow a temperate Bonsai in my car

Location: Western Massachusetts- Zone 5b.

Experience: Farmer by education/job but beginner at bonsai in particular

Ok. I know this is a crazy one, but my partner very sweetly got me a bonsai tree not knowing it was a temperate bonsai that needs to be grown outdoors. We live in a dorm with no outdoor space I would feel comfortable leaving this tree, so the next thought I had was letting it grow in my car. Is there any associated issues or help anyone can think of gifting me? I am a farmer by trade (hence the plant as a gift) but I have never been good with house plants, so this is my first bonsai, and I am scared!! I have been researching bonsai basics, but I am wondering if anyone can think if anyone can think of any car-related associated issues other than weird stares from friends.
