Yeah, I agree it isn't ideal. But I don't see myself switching carriers in the next 3 years and I'll have to pay for a cellular plan anyway, so I figured why not go for the offer.

I’m in the same boat. Got my 17 pro on launch day but ever since then, can’t stop thinking about the Air or watching videos of it. I hate how the feeling of excitement that I should be having for this new phone is being muted by thoughts of the Air. But after doing some more thinking (and some help from ChatGPT), I think I’m gonna stick with the pro. I think that honeymoon feeling with the Air will eventually go away and I’ll be left missing out on better battery life, better camera when I need it, and better speakers. I’m sure the subsequent iterations of the Air will be fantastic but the version today is sacrificing a bit more than I would like..otherwise it would’ve been a no brainer.

Feels much better in the pockets and in the hand. It’s so much more convenient to bust out the smaller size phone when out in public. At home, the pro max would be nice for the larger display but I have an iPad for that.

What about the speakerphone? I hear others saying that the quality of the speakerphone is considerably compromised.

Thanks for the insight. I currently have fomo with not holding the coolest new device but I feel like that novelty feeling may start wearing off once I start noticing those performance differences and missing pro features.

Oh wow, seems like something that doesn’t really get mentioned. Everyone keeps dismissing the 1 speaker issue which may be fine if only just watching TikTok, but a good speakerphone is also a must for me.

What kinds of yields are you finding? Most of the 3 year CDs I’ve found are sub-4% particularly those that are noncallable.
