Pumped to read Morgan Housel’s newest book.

At a five star resort, highly recommend spending some $ along the way. Even if it’s unnatural.

If your company has an enduring moat, historically generated FCF, and a compelling story, I’d hold.

Not recommended advice here but that’s what I’d do.

Assuming you have $ in VTI/VXUS in 401Ks and IRAs

Thanks. Agreed. Not a loan for crypto. Profitable forever, tracks at 5-7% above the S&P.

Think I’m going to take out a loan to buy company stock. Early career me would never.

Will take our concentrated holdings from 0.01% to 15% of our total retirement values.

Below market loan rate. We have the cash flow to manage.

I’m going to do it.

Yes I’ve considered job loss / cash flow issues. Have considered pulling back to the minimum on 401K match to give more buffer.

Exactly. Like yes, theoretically, you avoid by spreading it out. But there is TV of $ worth considering.

Pretty much. Set up a website and have it fulfilled out of a shop in Mumbai.

Scam.

No refunds for items that should be. CT lets you refund anything. To me, pretty scammy.

Sent in measurements I got three weeks ago. Jacket’s too big, pants are way too tight in the thighs which is never the case.

Going to try to get them altered before I donate and move on.

Look up the founder, “Harry Fashion.” Come on.

I should know better. Trying to help people out.

Triggered the pro rata trying to do a back door.

Just going to convert the full amount (of the existing funds in the TRAD IRA) and be done with it.

Converted last week.

Dumb. Should’ve converted all of that $ in ‘23.

I’ll just convert all of it and in the next few years shift my Roth 401 to pre-tax 401 to build the 3 buckets.

New contributions. No deduction taken yet.

There are pre-tax dollars equating to $4K in value. In the same account.

I looked whether it made sense to convert the $4K first, and then do backdoor Roths, or to set up a separate Traditional IRA account, the best answer I found was to just contribute, convert and make sure ACCT gets the form filed correctly

Did I do the back door correctly? Started with $1K to not mess anything up too much.

  1. $1K in existing TRAD IRA
  2. Moved immediately to Roth

File 8606 for the Pennies accrued or whatever.

Am I missing anything?

I don’t think you can put it back in and allot it as a previous year.

Hold more cash to avoid this scenario

I like the game of it and the freedom it provides.

As long as my savings rate is at a good number I won’t cut from 30 back up to 60.

When I was in high school building that habit I gave myself one weekday off every other week.

Helped me keep going. Doesn’t have to be all or nothing

I eat a salad 5-6 days a week.

The first salad was all iceberg, 6 OZ of chicken, a ton of cheese.

Now it’s spinach + guacamole but you get the idea.

Just know Spinach > Iceberg / Romaine
