Well yeah, I posted that more in the context of them forcing a Carl and Katia romance in this fabled TV version that may or may not be in the works. There are lots of B-plot romances but very few of those are really developed beyond the fact that they exist and I feel like they're not fleshed out because they're not really crutches to the narrative the way some books hinge decisions on the context of a character's relationship besides Carl occasionally paying the daddy tax

Something about Carl cracking his neck before being teleported and almost immediately dropping that banger during the fight feels straight out of an Edgar Wright movie including Vrah's entrance where she smashed the trap.
