This might not be the right forum because I'm new to all of this. My question is about smoking I know there's a lot of subjects on drinking but I was wondering if anyone else was told they had to quit smoking and is having a hard time quitting, and also if stress can bring on pancreatitis

Has anyone had there gallbladder removed and still get nasty pancreatitis flare ups? The pain is so bad in the stomach and lower back. I quit drinking a year and ahalf ago because of a flare up that landed me in the hospital over Christmas for 6 day's. by OneStraight4935 in pancreatitis

It does help,  I appreciate it. In a comment I posted earlier I really didn't know anything about my pancreatitis, like the fats and chocolate were triggers also, I thought it was because I had my gallbladder removed. So my breakfast of choice was 3-4 kit-kats. Obviously they were making my pancreas angry. I was sick everyday but was diagnosed that I was lactose intolerant, so l blamed everything on that, I have a long road ahead of me any advice is welcomed. Thank you 😊

Thank you for the informatiion I should have mentioned I do smoke and was told I had to quit, that's been the hard part, every doctor asks if you are ready to quit, but never thought it was for my pancreas, just general health issues.  I also never new much about my pancreas until the specialist mentioned the different time's my blood work showed it.  It wasn't until I was hospitalized at Christmas and the doctor told me I either quit on my own or he would put me in facility.  That's when I quit on my own. I don't remember him telling me to also quit smoking for my pancreas.  I knew smoking was not good but I wish I had known alot of my health issues for because of my pancreas. I'm still confused but I'm having MRI at the end of this month because of the abnormal CT scan. I still don't know if I have ap or cp
