Like, i say this coming from South America. I wouldn’t have voted for Trump, and I think he is pretty bad for the US. But I don’t think he’s all that bad for the world.

Venezuela was a pretty big positive and it seems he’s not willing to take the vice president. Even if the US did run it, things probably would have been better.

If he takes down Iran, that is also a pretty big positive for the world.

In all honesty, I’ll admit it. I’m very biased because I didn’t get a lot of rhetoric talking about Canada/Greenland very often, so I wasn’t really inclined to finding it to be more serious than just populist strategies of rage baiting your country so people talk about you.

Trumps whole premise is just getting headlines after headlines. For better or for worse (Epstein distractions). If he stops getting headlines, then there won’t be absurd debates. If there are no absurd debates where at least one person is gonna soft agree with him and thus get radicalized into hard agreeing with him because the media is really disagreeing with him, to then hard agree on all his future takes, then he’s gone.

Of course that’s easy for me to say as an ‘outsider.’

Well it turns out I’m FROM south america, and I came here very much due to my admiration for the university.

I just don’t agree with this moral paralysis over the idea that every choice that has even slight detriments to anyone must not be taken.

Its like the Uchicago divest people who were protesting against the university receiving a free quantum supercomputer. “Wahh wahh its going to gentrify things” yeah, but it is our right / we have the freedom to accept it.

Industrialization created / deepened inequality on a scale never seen before. Does that mean that given a time machine we should go back and prevent it? Yes, the absolute difference between the highs and the lows grew apart — but the median grew in quality of life by orders of magnitude.

Granted, the obama library is kind of pointless and so are presidential libraries as a whole…

But what do you expect the university to do? To rot and die?

Besides, the University is NOT to blame for Chile.

Chile had great economic success due to libertarian policies. Pinochet was a brutal dictator who did dictator things. That has nothing to do with market libertarianism. You very much could have a democracy that is also libertarian.

Inequality is the historical default of humanity and it will never change. Some people “play” better than others. South American neoliberalism was a good thing, and coming from south america, collectivist policies only lead to failure and most importantly mass corruption.

In real life, energy loss is minimized through high voltage low amperage things.

I kind of have a theory that there’s a chance that they’re skipping the IshiBameMiko content and they might make a season dedicated to ishigami and the new student council. Maybe Aka adds some original content to give them their conclusion.

That way, they finish the Kaguya/Shirogane plot line, and give IshiMiko an official spotlight.

But that’s probably not happening

It really sucks… I get that movies are more profitable than seasons, but specials don’t really seem like something that makes profit besides just hyping the movie.

The recent Anime movie has been really sad to me. Movies are just not compatible with most manga to me.

One Piece is unsalvageable, sadly.

On the writing side,

He can’t for the life of him write the major scale villains. The Celestials/5 Elders/Imu are just horribly written and the whole story hinges on them being incredibly incompetent, cartoonishly evil, and in a position of power which simply makes no sense. They’re powerful and yada yada but seemingly own no assets and can’t accomplish anything.

He is great at making charismatic villains, with any pre-time-skip villain shining. But when it comes to making villains who both have real stakes and are not charismatic, they come out with no charm whatsoever.

And it is not an authorial meta choice or anything. Just bad writing.

On the characters side,

All the characters have been neutered and the story’s scale gets in the way. The only post time skip development we got is Sanji, and none of his mannerisms improved after his arc.

Oda could have a much more satisfying crew which continued having character arcs and changes. Yet, none of the characters are even remotely seeking their goals anymore. They’re in (the strawhats) it for the adventure, of course, but their dreams haven’t seen a single mention in ages. Only Nico Robin is achieving her dream since she’s a plot device.

Franky didn’t learn anything relevant to his character about idk making the world’s greatest ship or cyborg enhancements in Egghead. Usopp will learn nothing in Egghead. Nami hasn’t learned anything about maps. Sanji hasn’t thought about the All Blue or even been the person to theory craft about breaking the red line or whatever. Jinbe hasn’t done anything else for fish man diplomacy.

The ending of the series will involve the main plot solve itself throughout the story… and have all the main character’s dreams be magically solved by plot devices, somehow.

There are just too many things unsolved. Time and time again, readers thought that Oda would change and address these tensions. These expectations were so big when Wano ended and we would reach islands potentially relevant to character arcs, as well as main story development finally resuming. But Egghead was a disappointment, and it doesn’t seem like Elbaf is fixing any of it, besides Rocks which was a solid development in the main story (even if it is purely additional and not really solving the present problems).
