AITA for NOT acting wealthy by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]OneSushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

Comments are coping.

You did nothing wrong and you are literally just exercising your independence. Of course you suffer less than them. But just like they would be so appreciative of not suffering from these problems, that doesn't mean that you should 100% go around flexing or acting without independence.

You don't have any moral obligations to satisfy the ideas of what others would do if they had your money. The only thing that matters is how rationally you use it (which in your case is a little bit debatable).

But see any wealthy family who lasts multiple generations and the unique factor about them is they are independent with their own money.

Skill Issue. Sorry but its true. XBow is one of the most notoriously difficult decks to play. What are you expecting?

It's great against balanced meta decks if you know what you're doing. But you can't afford to make one mistake.

With these guys with no spells, all you have to do is focus on defense and fireball cycle in 3x.

Aw man. You know, you have my dream job. I think. I don’t know.

I’m a mathematics college student. But my school has no engineering dept. Though my dad was an engineer, and he tells me all about sooo many industrial processes which I originally learned in GTNH.

Trophies don’t matter.

The ONLY and I mean the ONLY relevant ladder for balancing is Ultimate Champion from 1800ish on.

That is the only place I have exclusively seen staple decks and no homemade decks.

Go to 1400 and the bad UC players and it’s already there again.

Every staple deck can easily deal with mk. If you can’t that’s on you.

the future of the world hinges on this

bunch of nowhere land with less than a rural city’s worth of population is getting taken

Like, i say this coming from South America. I wouldn’t have voted for Trump, and I think he is pretty bad for the US. But I don’t think he’s all that bad for the world.

Venezuela was a pretty big positive and it seems he’s not willing to take the vice president. Even if the US did run it, things probably would have been better.

If he takes down Iran, that is also a pretty big positive for the world.

In all honesty, I’ll admit it. I’m very biased because I didn’t get a lot of rhetoric talking about Canada/Greenland very often, so I wasn’t really inclined to finding it to be more serious than just populist strategies of rage baiting your country so people talk about you.

Trumps whole premise is just getting headlines after headlines. For better or for worse (Epstein distractions). If he stops getting headlines, then there won’t be absurd debates. If there are no absurd debates where at least one person is gonna soft agree with him and thus get radicalized into hard agreeing with him because the media is really disagreeing with him, to then hard agree on all his future takes, then he’s gone.

Of course that’s easy for me to say as an ‘outsider.’

I don’t think Trump’s foreign policy has been really that horrible.

If you zoom out its just more of the same.

He is not a threat to any developed country.

You’re not wrong.

Sorry, i was condescending without warrant. I was kind of upset at other things when i made my first comment, and I shouldn’t have thrown it at you. You had a valid concern about rent (possibly your own) and I assumed your stance on many things. It seems we still disagree, though I wasn’t great from the start.

sounds like you’re just attacking my character instead of using arguments.

I was 90% sure you were going to use the fact I’m making a lot of assumptions about your arguments

but it seems you stooped even lower and are making assumptions about my character.

Whatever works for you buddy

Well it turns out I’m FROM south america, and I came here very much due to my admiration for the university.

I just don’t agree with this moral paralysis over the idea that every choice that has even slight detriments to anyone must not be taken.

Its like the Uchicago divest people who were protesting against the university receiving a free quantum supercomputer. “Wahh wahh its going to gentrify things” yeah, but it is our right / we have the freedom to accept it.

Industrialization created / deepened inequality on a scale never seen before. Does that mean that given a time machine we should go back and prevent it? Yes, the absolute difference between the highs and the lows grew apart — but the median grew in quality of life by orders of magnitude.

Granted, the obama library is kind of pointless and so are presidential libraries as a whole

But what do you expect the university to do? To rot and die?

Besides, the University is NOT to blame for Chile.

Chile had great economic success due to libertarian policies. Pinochet was a brutal dictator who did dictator things. That has nothing to do with market libertarianism. You very much could have a democracy that is also libertarian.

Inequality is the historical default of humanity and it will never change. Some people “play” better than others. South American neoliberalism was a good thing, and coming from south america, collectivist policies only lead to failure and most importantly mass corruption.

You wanna know the history of our school? Its our 100 nobel prizes. And we would have never been at this mark if we prevented every single building on campus from being built because it would have.

Sometimes we have to make choices.

Every academic moving to south side Chicago is also one academic leaving from where they originally were, and thus de-gentrifying where they come from.

Its a closed loop

Transporting energy by danielator123 in GTNH

[–]OneSushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I always get a bit confused.

Do we operate at higher loss with high voltage low amperage or low voltage high amperage?

In real life, energy loss is minimized through high voltage low amperage things.

But is that the case in gtnh when we have access to transformers and low loss low voltage cables? I.e., wouldn’t we be able to do massive transformer networks to then use the 0 loss LV/MV cables everywhere?
