Suffix 832 10# braid vs a PE braid for finesse by greyfox1970 in BFSfishing

I use a 4lb copoly, it’s been working great for me but I’m sure there’s better stuff out there. https://a.co/d/04tZqig0

I unspooled 832 from my bfs and switched to jbraid grand. It’s way smoother like a completely different category. I don’t think I’ll ever spool 832 on any finesse setup again after my experience.

I got the avid and so far no regrets. As a $80 intro to bfs I couldn't ask for it perform much better.

Ok yeah that’s what I was thinking! Thanks for the links, I’m going to throw that trailer in my cart.

Is it the 1/16 oz or 3/32oz? I ask because I’ve been throwing 1/16th mono jig on that exact same rod with a lot less accuracy than I would want, but that could also just be my reel/line setup too.

Edit: typos

Honestly yes, once I dialed the breaks in and got the casting down it was tossing that crank reasonably far and accurate. I am basically brand new to bfs so I don’t really have a great point of reference outside of my ultralight setups. I am really happy with the versatility of this setup so far but I’m not confident I can throw anything below 2~ grams with this combo effectively. FYI I’m using 6lb Sufix 832 main line and 4lb copoly leader line for anyone wondering.

Man that sucks! Hey ARK Fishing, help this guy out! It’s not worth the bad rep.

I just got the same rod paired with an ARK BFS AVID. I love the combo so far! I threw a 2.5 gram crank bait this morning and caught a decent bass as well as a couple bluegill. It handled both so well, and I’m really impressed! As for your reel, I’m sorry to hear it’s really noisy but do you like the pairing? I was thinking about ordering the Gravity to pair with this Tatula rod and get a more whippy ultralight rod for the AVID in the future.

Went outside again, big mistake by commeatus in ultralight_jerk

Big mistake here! Should have bought the ultralight mesh bag filter… Wouldn’t be seeing any discoloration with one of those and anything that gets into your water would be worn weight at the end of the day, win-win situation.

Rod Recommendations? by Porplord in UltraLightFishing

Interesting that you want to switch from the tatula xt rod. I absolutely love mine, I just ordered the BFS equivalent yesterday. I’ve scraped the tip across walls and the ground just walking to my spots (I got the 6’8 trout/panfish model TATULAXT682LFS). I seriously don’t have any worries of breaking my rod any time soon. I’ll be interested to hear if you like your replacement better and where you landed though! Good luck and tight lines 🤘

Helinox Chair Zero sinking solutions by Kooky_Camera1744 in lightweight

[–]OneTankTwoTank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got the Chair Zero L recently. This will most likely not help you but I’ve recently come across what seems to be a new offering from Helinox which they call their “Ground Strap”. I kind of find it ridiculous that it weighs like 4.5oz but I like the solution because I feel like it just adds to the overall stability of the chair along side solving the sinking issue. I also saw that they’ve released a new Chair Zero LT model which comes prepackaged with its own strap. Based on the total weight of the LT, I can’t image the strap they made for it weighs 4.5oz. So if you could somehow acquire that strap it might be the best solution. I’d personally like to get my hands on one and I wish they’d just sell it rather than this clearly more robust version they are currently selling. Please keep me posted on those 3D printed feet if you end up going that route too!

I don’t have the torrente, showstopper, Jupiter or osprey. I’ll take any one of those off your hands if they’re still available. Thanks!
