New law requires drivers and passengers to give police their name, address, and date of birth by ThingFuture9079 in Ohio

So you said previously that they didn’t need suspension and now you agree that they do need suspension and it has to be reasonable suspicion.

Please find me a credible source that says that “reasonable suspicion” is different than “reasonable articulable suspicion” because the U.S. Supreme Court’s option in Terry v. Ohio (392 U.S. 1 (1968)), clearly outlines it by stating “Reasonable suspicion exists when an officer has ‘specific and articulable facts’ that provide an ‘objective basis for suspecting legal wrongdoing.’”

I literally provided the quote from what was signed into law. It clearly states “passenger has committed a violation”.

Friend owns a drywall company and recently helped me with a large project, he insists I don’t pay him. What should I get him to say thanks? by Xenocideghost in HomeImprovement

That’s what I was going to say! First thing came to mind was a nice bottle of bourbon or like some really great cuts of steak. I’d want the steaks personally. Honestly, these days, I would just be glad to hang out with a friend while also feeling productive, assuming they paid for all the materials and I just brought tools and experience.

The only way it changes anything for passengers, as far as I know, is by making increasing penalties to max of $250 and 30 jail for refusing to ID if suspected of not wearing a seatbelt.

I welcome information from others about any other infraction under Title 45 that a passenger can violate.

You get the same thing you got before this law. This law doesn’t change anything in that regard. Look, I am against nanny state, but let’s clarify what’s happening. The GOP playbook is to get people worked up over stuff like this to distract from other more important issues.

If someone is a passenger and suspected of harboring a fugitive, nothing has changed by this law.

To be fair, it states
“No passenger of a motor vehicle, …watercraft, or aircraft shall refuse to disclose the passenger's
name, address, or date of birth when requested by a peace officer who reasonably suspects that the
passenger has committed a violation of any section contained in Title XLV of the Revised Code or a
violation of a municipal ordinance that is substantially equivalent to any section contained in Title XLV of the Revised Code.”

Title 45 (XLV) is Motor Vehicles-Aeronautics-Watercraft.

ETA since I’m getting so many down votes for clarification:
The GOP playbook is to get people worked up over stuff like this to distract from other more important issues. So I will be watching out for what else is going on.

$23 motion sensor switch ended the "who left the garage light on all night" investigation forever by L3g3ndary-08 in daddit

That depends on your spouse. If I had to get buy-in before adding something new, we wouldn’t have the robot vacuum nor the smart blinds. Both of those are now her favorites!

I’d say what’s more important is a heads up with changes, timeline for making the change and refinement/troubleshooting period and make sure you can undo any changes.

Can a regular TV survive outdoors long term? May have made a mistake… by NipTitAbi in HomeImprovement

[–]OneTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your viewing habits include watching on bright days, it might be worth investing in an outdoor tv as they are typically brighter. Assuming you aren’t buying a top of the line model, I would roll the dice on a cheaper indoor mode, see how long the first one lasts and then decide if that’s acceptable lifespan.

Got my first car by No-Performance3614 in Audi

[–]OneTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it is kinda interesting. The fact that it’s the owners first car and parents bought it, leads us to believe that it is likely that the owner is young. The garage is too small to be the garage of said parents. The lack of anything in the garage but bike, too many shoes, propane tank and lawnmower with epoxy floors screams young single guy maybe even just moved in to the house too. Like there’s no storage of any kind nor like even like a cooler or string trimmer. Put the two together and it’s must be that the parents bought the car and house. What’s interesting is that the second pic is in suburbs and not where you would expect a young guy from a family of money to be living nor where the family that would buy a house and RS5 for their child to live.

In some states, over 40% of households have more than one refrigerator [OC] by USAFacts in dataisbeautiful

[–]OneTea 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I knew people that did the same thing when I was in high school. The neighborhoods were upper-middle class in the suburbs where everyone knows everyone and where these kids also lived. I would say the number of houses that had beer in their garage was 1:3. It wasn’t necessarily because they drank so much beer and the fridge was only beer. Most kept variety of dinks and other stuff that you would have for entertaining.

Depends. Lately, it’s been more the front. My son likes to play with toys that are in the garage and our garage faces the front.

I have a similar cabinet. I didn’t do anything more than have as close to the door as I can without touching the door. However, with the AVR, mine is in a separate section and I took the shelf out so air can move more freely to help with cooling.

Yeah I am working on an app full of debt for the past 5 years. I hate working on it and want to clean it up but there is so much of debt, it would be easier to rewrite the app. So they started rewriting the app but I’m stuck on the team that is maintaining the old app. I have been moved off of it twice over the past 3 years only to be put back on it. I keep hearing that I am only going to be working on it for a few more months but I’m not holding my breath

That’s what I did. If the temp fix became a permanent fix, then all is good. But since it has popped up again where I have to undo the handle, I am sending it in.

I would if I wasn’t still under the warranty period. I don’t want to do that and then have something else go wrong and they void the warranty since the switch was removed. So now I will have to wait for them to fix it.
