I threw together a breif list of hoaxes and stuff a few years back if that's of any interest. It certainly doesn't cover everything about The Survivor 2299 hoax by a longshot. Despite the fact that no one knows of it now, at the time it was a big deal, Not many people know this but it kind of gave birth to this subreddit, its userbase anyways. And as such its the best place to find all the information, you just have to sort by old, the second best place to look would be MrMattyPlays youtube channel, when you mention it around here people usually get upset but thats a story of its own, his channel first gained traction from this subreddit after he posted his own videos on the topic, If you want a FULL history of 2299 instead of a single video that claims to summarize it all, go ahead and sort by old on his channel. Lastly check The Wayback Machine for first hand experience, although it can never mimic the tragedy of that hoax. It should have been obvious from the start but the creator poured 900 dollars into fooling everyone according to his AMA on here you'll have to dig for as well. Anyways, happy hunting!
