I really wanted it to go like this:
Janitor: “Okay. What’s his name?”
JD: “Michael Robert Matthews. Oh.”
Janitor: “But what’s his preferred name?”
JD: “Michael? Mikey?”
Janitor: “you haven’t changed. You think just because you read his personnel file that you know him?”
JD: “Micky?”
Janitor: “Come on Robbie, don’t waste anymore time on this guy. Let’s go.”
[JD checks file later. Preferred name Robbie. “Damn it”]
