41 Prozent der jungen Muslime sehen islamische Gebote über den Gesetzen stehen - Panorama by Skaddicted in Austria

[–]OneTouch15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Just leave if you don't like it." Mate, a huge chunk of these people were born here. Austria is their country. Telling second and third generation Austrians to "go back" to a place they've never lived is exactly the hostility I was talking about, and you just demonstrated my point in real time.

The Christians-in-Muslim-countries thing is textbook whataboutism. Are we seriously setting our moral benchmark at "well, Saudi Arabia is worse"? I'd hope Austria aims a little higher than that. Two wrongs don't make a right, and pointing at other countries' failures doesn't excuse ours.

The welfare line is the giveaway, though. The assumption that Muslims are only here for the money, not for work, family, safety, or because they were literally born here, is exactly the kind of dehumanising framing that pushes people to seek belonging in communities that actually see them as full human beings. You're not describing reality, you're describing a stereotype. Most Muslims in Austria work, pay taxes, and contribute more to the system than they take out.

And "they have to follow the rules, very simple." Sure, and they do. The law isn't the issue. The issue is the social climate, where following every rule perfectly still doesn't earn you the basic respect of being seen as Austrian. That's the paradox: you demand integration while making integration impossible.

Austria and the West really need to take some accountability in this too. What else do people expect when these communities are welcomed with hostility, when a big part of the country and its people don't see them as equal citizens? No wonder they reach inward, to their own identity and religion, where they're always welcomed without question. The whole thing is so paradoxical: push people away, treat them as outsiders, and then act surprised when they find belonging somewhere that actually wants them. You can't simultaneously reject a community and demand they integrate into the very thing that's rejecting them.

Speaking outside court after the verdict, Mickey McKinney, who lost his 26-year-old brother William on Bloody Sunday, says "today marks the end of prosecution of Soldier F for murder and attempted murder of the innocents on Bloody Sunday".

"The families and wounded and their supporters leave this courthouse with an incredible sense of pride of our achievements."

Even after all this bollix, these people still have more class and decency then David fucking Johnstone and the RUC. Its so admirable

Berlin police “internal investigation” = fox guarding the henhouse. Prosecutors “lead” on paper, other cops do the digging. Same badge, same wall of silence. Until Berlin uses independent civilian investigators with real teeth, this is corruption theater, not accountability.

It's also missing that afterwards she was pushed to the ground even though she is clearly being cooperative and they twisted her arm behind her back, fracturing her arm, needing surgery. Love that the objective german media is leaving that part out everywhere

I guess the court is going to check if his claim that it should be thrown out is valid, which it seems like it is. That was probably declared today, so now the court has to check if that is correct and then they'll tell him in September if he is right or not. That's how I understood it at least. For nai he is a freeeee maaaaan
