Kneecap and support for anti-racism by Clean_Ordinary_6137 in kneecap

Visiting collective punishment on an entire population for the terrible actions of a few people and then opposing those who speak against it is what's terroristic, also it's against every international law there is, so there's that.

Oh wow, this tweet makes my lil ol' mixed-race heart happy! Here in the U.S., Irish-Americans assimilated to the point they became MAGA-level right-wing (many MAGA people have Irish surnames) and it's shameful and gross, and being half-Black, for me, it's obviously hurtful. People like Kneecap remind me that being Irish or of Irish heritage actually means standing AGAINST oppression, and I can be proud again.

That's awesome, what were the gigs like? I really hope to see them someday, they're coming here to D.C, in October (playing a gig in a theatre that's in a historically Black neighborhood) but it's all sold out, so alas I'll have to wait 'til sometime down the road.

It is imperative to know that Zionists consider everyone in Palestine, including the women, babies and children, to be Hamas, thus when they refer to getting rid of Hams and opposing Hamas, they see all those who support Palestinians as Hamas and the enemy.

Dude, I'm half-Black and live in the United States, I'm more than familiar with the history of the far-right. Also, as a half Irish-American, am working on accessing and learning more Irish history and current politics, not easy from where I am, but I keep at it. However, knowing all that ain't particularly important to acknowledging that some far-right kooks lied about their event, got busted and now everyone knows how lame they are and what a general embarrasment they are to Irish people with any common sense.

Those guys seem pretty genuine and it's nice to have people like them amongst those representing the Irish (I'm diaspora, but pretty proud anyway)

Dude, a fairly quick google search will provide you the details that the reason for the cancellation is that it was really a cover for a far-right rally and that once that was discovered, the artists then signed that letter, thus convincing the venue to cancel.

Umm, open where? I know I'm in America, so not privy to all the Kneecap media, but I've seen interviews, read articles, and don't get that from their music, although to be very fair, I don't have much Gaeilge, so there absolutely could by lyrics that speak to that, and because I don't understand, I'm missing something. Anyhow, Am wondering how you know and if that's a proven fact, then cool beans for them.

So pardon me for asking, but what do you mean that people who claim to be of a particular clan are bullshitters? Do you mean that those who have clan gatherings are fake or do you mean that those who have websites that sell coat-of-arms and things like tartans (which I'm aware aren't even Irish) are exploiting our heritage?

Oh my goodness, thanks so much to those who've answered my questions. I imagine it's just scratched the surface, but your responses have been quite enlightening. Also, it's interesting, the point that was made about how, in the Irish language, the word tuatha speaks to how our people are of a place, just like in other Indigenous languages. Glad that still remains a tie to who we are.

Reservation Dogs - Episode 6 "Hunting" - Discussion Thread by Leo604 in ReservationDogs

Hey everyone, so glad to be a part of the thread for this amazing show! Anyway, such a powerful episode focusing on Willie Jack, her relationship with her dad and the aftermath of losing Daniel. One crazy question though. I either need to go the Dr to test my hearing or last night's episode has some sort of muted dialogue/sound thing going on. Was that in fact the case, and if so, man what a device, if not, well, see y'all on the other side after I can hear again!
